  6. ​ @wisenber  The F-15EX does not have the speed when it carries the payload, most speed ratings are achieved clean and bolting weapons plus fuel tanks increases drag. The EX may have the range, but cannot go where the F-35 can. Stealth is the ticket to survive SAMs.

  18.  @penskepc2374  The F-22 wasn't available for purchase before the F-35 was matured. Now the factories are just impossible to rebuild so they can't be purchased even if the US allowed it. The F-35 at least uses 2000s and some 2010s tech, and was made to be easily upgradeable. The F-22 is fixed to 90s tech for the most part.
