Plus seeker and quality of mid course link is important. You can have the kinetic ability to hit a target at X range, but score no hits because the lock always drops

  2. ​ @vdotme  Again, there was no reason for it. The US was fighting the GWOT and Russia/China seemed to be liberalizing. When tensions rose it made more sense to get something new.

  4. It alters drag, center of mass, etc which can cause issues with the weapon mounted during flight or even cause a low pressure zone to suck the weapon into the wing or fuselage and cause an accident during launch.
