  1.  @ianloree2784  That doesn't too much good because no matter how much data comes out, mainstream media and big tech can continue to "fact check" politicians campaigning on that platform and turn enough of public opinion against them to keep the battle lines where they are. Unfortunately people will stick to their guns no matter how irrational it is, even if they could benefit with a conversation with the other side. But they can't even have a conversation because words don't even have meaning anymore, people can't even agree on basic facts even if they're living in the same reality. You try to expose your ideas and the person on the other side hears something completely different.

  2.  @somemone4226  That's how it went in Europe too. Close, open, close, open, close and open back up. Look, no offense, but looking at China doesn't mean much. You can't trust their numbers. Who's to say they didn't simply stop reporting? With most people being asymptomatic, and most cases being minor, they can sweep the deaths under the rug and hide a small bump in mortality for the year. I don't understand this trend of people saying we need to look at China. I am vehemently opposed to the way they do things and people insisting how they're doing great things only makes me more inclined to reject their policies.

  3.  @MikoyanGurevichMiG21  The thing is that boomers on facebook are pretty much only using the tech as an outlet for their true selves. There's been changes, sure. The difference here is that we've reached a point people are being raised by tech. Their behavior isn't being impacted. It's being molded from an early age. Yes people complained about videogames, rap and metal music, D&D, TV, movies, music and I'm sure even more ridiculous things were blamed for the downfall of society. The difference was, we've reached a point technology is so advanced it can be boiled down and crafted to keep as many eyeballs on it for as long as possible.

If you fire a gun - a lethal weapon - without the intention of killing then you're admitting that you had no reason to use the gun in the first place. Firing a gun at someone without the intention to kill is like setting a house on fire without the intention to burn it down. If you fire a gun as a non-lethal option that makes you even more willing to use the gun as first resort - and then the person bleeds out on the ground because you fucking shot the suspect and people DIE when they get shot and you have to tell the department that you didn't mean to kill the suspect who turned out to be an innocent gamer. Good luck in court.
