@jackcloud4728 look at minefields, why do you think they're effective? Because it forces an entire force to mind their own steps. It slows down an enemy. If you're going to commit forces to check every bush the conventional army is gonna just roll through and complete all their objectives while everyone is busy looking at the floor. The guys might not even be there. Let's be real, you can't just have a force committed to chasing spooks that might not even be there. Why leave security of camp/base with pre-established fields of fire and potentially walk into ambushes? The fact is that whenever you have a large concentration of forces you're gonna be watched one way or another. You will have your own people scouting ahead. The two opposing sides will have some sort of intelligence about each other. Making too much of an effort to hunt down people who won't fire at you is a waste. Let them watch and report. Hell, maybe feint the enemy by concentrating forces away from your objective so that they report what you want to be reported. Deception. There's no point in blacking out their activities because intelligence gathering and recon patrols are pretty basic military theory, most low-level training infantry manuals that are declassified talk about it, you can find the information in a book at your local library, all nations know it and it's been used for more than a thousand years.

Jack, that's perfect. Have the enemy waste their time checking every bush in the country.

@Silver_Prussian HIMARS won the war lol it complete broke Russian warfighting by ending the artillery spam. 12 HIMARS and like 4 M270s lifted Russia into the air and broke its spine like Bane did to Batman lmao
11
No, they aren't lmao. Name one person in this comments section saying that tank drivers should be in charge of tactics, strategy, organization, etc. Once you have a working product it's great to have the end user improve it, but putting end users in charge from the beginning of the project will just lead to 50 different people making 50 unreasonable demands.

The aircraft can't be replaced in a day or two. Aircraft production is tremendously expensive. It also requires components that are harder to acquire now than they have been for the past few years as sanctions tighten. What you probably mean is that aircraft can be pulled from somewhere else. Okay. The base can be struck again. If the ammo dumps had precision guided munitions, those are very hard to replace, forcing the Russian air power to drop dumb bombs and thus get themselves into MANPADS range.
6
Cope. They don't have the forces to commit to an engagement with NATO.
5
Homie still getting paid his roubles. Shame you weren't at the Black Sea Fleet HQ this morning.
4
Pretty sure the C/D is out of production and the E/F is too new and expensive, it only had its first flight in 2017.
4
@FRIPPE_THE_GREAT Forget the "secret stuff". Even if that wasn't an objection, they'd need to place an order and Saab would be spending months to produce the aircraft. They need aircraft which exist, are ready to fly without major overhauls, and can be parted with in their current home country.
3
Russian MoD numbers lol
3
The S-400 can't protect Crimea.
2
Two countries involved, a 2000km front. No world war.
2
Ukraine had Neptune missiles and now Harpoons. So you're lying.
2
What French missile? Ukraine has Neptune missiles, they could have done it.
2
@shyrose39 They're using aircraft which were kept up to date with their domestic aircraft industry. Legacy Hornets would need overhauls.
2
@sladehelicoptersgaming3148 The DPR broke Minsk II the day after it was signed. The separatist republics are terrorists and Russia always orders them to keep fighting.
2
No. They already have the Su-25, they wouldn't need another aircraft of the same category.
2
@nocapproductions5471 "any help is needed and is needed fast" - Some help is worse than no help. Giving them A-10s, which have lower speed than the Su-25, is actually a hinderance because of all the training hours for pilots and maintenance will be a waste if later we decide to give them something better. F-16s are extremely common and production lines are open. A-10s are starved of parts and the company that made them went out of business in 2003.
2
The AC-130 can't even fly during the Day. Spirit 03 was shot down and the entire crew died as a result.
2
@KilgorSoS Fuel burns but it's extremely difficult to cause detonation.
1
@octowuss1888 Again, replacing from the reserves is pulling aircraft from somewhere else. Reserves need overhauls, because machinery in a storage state is not ready for duty. A one-off attack. Want to risk it? Ask for lodging at Saki air base and put your body where your mouth is. Security will increase? Thanks Russia! That's less security at the front. More Russians KIA because of the resources pulled into Crimea. Hypersonics aren't raining down. Thanks for admitting you have no idea what you're talking about.
1
@octowuss1888 Russia suffering trivial failures on a consistent basis. Ukraine could wipe out entire BTGs and you people would still say "tis but a scratch". "the Ukies just lost 2000 soldiers at Soledar" - Not even the Russian MoD is claiming that. If your propaganda numbers are higher than the Russian MoD ones, it's time to lay off the krokodil. Why not join the Donbabwe forces? Your brothers are dying! Wager and Kadyrov tiktok armies behind them, forcing them to the front! Help them!
1
@skylem5373 Jammers are not more powerful than radar emitters. Jammers only work from a long distance, up close radars "burn through" jamming.
1
@Nathan-ry3yu You can't duck during combat. Vertical landing is a very complex process that can't be rushed.
1
Really activates the almonds.
1
Ukraine lost plenty of territory in the north. Russians gave it back. The Soviet Union also lost territory in WW2. Germany gave it back.
1
@scoutlee3406 what? The video?
1
On paper. There's too few of them to support combat operations, while F-16s are one of the most common fighters out there.
1
It's extremely humanitarian to arm a nation fighting off murderers who came from abroad.
1
lol no
1
@FRIPPE_THE_GREAT Flying an A-10 at low altitude is a waste of its capabilities. It needs to get a good look from above and pick off targets with the targeting pod/laser designator or by using the seekers on Maverick missiles. Flying low would mean doing blind rocket volleys like the Su-25, which they don't need.
1
@espacesX They already have Su-25s.
1
@espacesX Combat at Mach 2 is unheard of.
1
Why would they need the Harrier? They already have Su-25s.
1
Because the black market jet trafficking is such a thriving business.
1
@csanadbarczy9153 They clearly have shown they deserve them. You don't deserve the standard of living you enjoy, though. We should put you in Siberia.
1
Putin has nothing else.
1
Well, unfortunately Saab also messed that up. The Gripen C/Ds and E/Fs are like the Hornet and Super Hornet. Two different aircraft with similar design. The older Gripens cannot be rebuilt into newer ones. I mean, they can, but most of the parts are factory new and not much is cannibalized.
1
@war8036 "We didn't say we wanted Kiev, we just sent men to die on the way there" - You get how that was worse, right? All those men were killed by Russian officials... who won't even dare say what they wanted. So they died for nothing.
1
@war8036 "just like NATOs theory of invulnerability" - Russia is welcome to promise no nukes and try to defeat NATO. Let's go.
1
@danielallan8061 No nukes. That's cheating, bub. Their combat readiness? They threw men unprepared into the roads in Ukraine, for them to get ambushed by AT weapons.
1
@war8036 We believed the only way to stop a Soviet offensive would be nukes. The USSR's power came from the perception of their power.
1
@war8036 and Russian officers fought a real war before? Becuase Ukraine seems to show they don't know what they're doing.
1
@war8036 Okay, but it seems they've never done it before. That's my point. Swallow what up? Much of the territory was in separatist hands already, or in the hands of traitors who left the door open for the invasion. And they had to sacrifice thousands of men. Plus, tons of Russian officers already died. Swallow territory - die in it. Great officer work.
1
The S-400 can't even protect Crimea.
1
Gee, we got ourselves a Saab sales rep.

@sladehelicoptersgaming3148 "Though the fighting generally subsided after the ceasefire came into effect at 0:00 EET on 15 February, skirmishes and shelling continued in several parts of the conflict zone.[49] Shelling and fighting at Debaltseve continued, as DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko said that the ceasefire did not apply to that area.[50] In the south of Donetsk Oblast, fighting between DPR forces and members of the Azov Battalion continued in villages near Mariupol.[50][51] By 16 February, Minsk II seemed on the verge of collapse.[52][53] Separatists continued a heavy assault on Debaltseve. Both sides said that they would not withdraw heavy weaponry as specified by the agreement whilst fighting in Debaltseve was ongoing.[54] Reuters described the ceasefire as "stillborn" in Debaltseve.[55] Ukrainian forces were forced to retreat from Debaltseve on 18 February, leaving separatist forces in control of the city.[56] In the week after the fall of Debaltseve to pro-Russian forces, fighting in the conflict zone abated.[57] DPR and LPR forces began to withdraw artillery from the front lines as specified by Minsk II on 24 February, and Ukraine did so on 26 February. Ukraine reported that it had suffered no casualties during 24–26 February, something that had not occurred since early January 2015.[57][58]" This is from the wiki page on Minsk accords

AA didn't kill the Aliexpress drone that bombed the Sevatopol HQ.
1
@hisevilness_com So Crimea, which has AA batteries and ships with AA missiles sailing nearby, had no AA.
1
@hisevilness_com Pantsir booster rocket sections have washed up to the Crimean shores. They are active in the area. There's also videos of AA engaging drones with interceptor missiles. So the claim that there's no defenses is a lie.
