That's true, but it only reinforces the point - people are unaware of the implications and need to be told how the world works.

@alanlight7740 there's a concept being studied that involves making industrial 3d printers portable enough to deploy on a base, and build the spare parts needed on the spot instead of having to wait for supplies.

It can take months to train a pilot to fly western aircraft, old Soviet hardware may need modernization and repairs, and they'd still need MiG/Sukhoi compatible missiles. They can't just slap AIM-9Xs and AIM-120s under the wings of aircraft wired for Soviet/Russian missiles.
6
That's not a No-Fly Zone. That's a bombing.

@Alarios711 A societal problem you come here and tell us can be easily fixed. You're not being asked to fix urban planning. You're not being asked to fix the way we cultivate. Just demonstrate how. Society will follow.
3
Firepower advantage doesn't mean hit rate advantage. Compare Russian shelling (carpeting entire empty fields) to Ukrainian shelling (clustered around trenchlines and fortifications).
3
Storing fireworks next to ammonium nitrate doesn't sound like Langley, that's just the average port authority incompetence.
2
@mrwhips3623 Air raid warnings and shelters reduce those.
2
@Alarios711 you're free to prove everyone wrong and demonstrate how efficient cultivating those lands is
2
Lmao how did the Soviets, Libya or Yugoslavia try to be good guys? Gaddafi straight up helped arm and train terrorists to attack the west. Yugoslavia collapsed due to the death of Tito and Serb dreams of dominance over the region.
2
Actually revealed where? Also, are you confusing KIAs for casualties?
1
@mrnobody7882 how about you watch the Thunderf00t video on Fukushima before talking shit?
1
It wasn't a coup. Torment? Yes, the Russian criminals and LARPers sent to fight Ukraine, and their weapons, brought nothing but pain to ethnic Russians.
1
Having more artillery doesn't mean you land more hits. Shells on empty fields produce zero casualties.
1
A-10s and AC-130s have been shot down without enemy air power. The AC-130 story is pretty sad. They're not meant to fly during the day because of how easy they are to target. Marines on the ground needed support as the day was about to break and the crew made the decision to stay and continue supporting them, despite the danger. A MANPADS was fired at it, destroying it. None survived.

@tossacointoyourwitcherOriginal If Serbia had to pay every cent they owe for what they've done, they have to keep paying for the next 100 years.
1
@tossacointoyourwitcherOriginal No, the logic is: we pay, but we deduct what you owe. Oh, the payment is insufficient? Don't engage in genocide. And don't take our soldiers hostage.
1
@tossacointoyourwitcherOriginal Engaging in genocide: war crime. Stopping it: not a war crime.

Look at Ukrainian fields. Empty land is cratered like the moon. Russia shells to delete grid squares.
1
Russia is forced to fight offensively. Not one step back style, they are forced to fight for every inch of land instead of baiting Ukraind into overextending.
1
Look at photos of Ukrainian fields. Russia used saturation shelling, absolutely bombarding empty fields. Ukraine doesn't have the shells to do this so they try to fire at point targets rather than area targets.
1
@LuvBorderCollies You live in a world without anti-ship missiles? Iron clad ships no longer exist because modern weapons sink them just the same.
1
Ukraine has a greater incentive to hit. It's not the boxer who throws more punches who wins. It's the one who lands more.
1
@aylmer666 MacGregor claimed Ukraine would lose March-April 2022. He's a liar.
1
The "coup" was carried out by the democratically elected parliament and the far right lost the elections. The 14 thousand deaths occured in both sides. They were not "ethnic Russians", they were Ukrainian military and volunteers and separatists. Those people died in a conflict, I'm sure you know people die fighting wars. You claim 14k Russians were killed while hiding the fact thousands were Ukrainian military.
1
@1989TS.. If a person from Austin Texas knows that a no-fly zone means a F-16 shooting down a Su-30, they will say no. If a person from Paris France thinks that a no-fly zone is just a UN request and Russia stops flying or else they'll be called a naughty boy, they'll say yes. It's not about geography but perception of how this works.

As another commenter explained, the production of ethanol discards 90% of the vegetable material, which is used as nutrient dense feed for animals. The "brewing" process strips the sugars that get turned into alcohol, but leaving most of the protein content.
1
@Tarcisio_x The real Russian army couldn't even take Odessa. They're gonna reach transgender land with a rag tag army and convicts?
1
@jong.7944 "on track" means they aren't doing that yet
1
There's no militia allies. Russian nationals were conscripted into the DPR and LPR. The Donbas men were slaughtered by Russia's recon by fire tactics.
1
Mechanization and battlefield first aid have drastically reduced fatality rates.
1
Wrong. Ukraine showed the papers they pulled from corpses. Many mobilized were killed a week after they were introduced into the army. They started sending men to the front with some staying back for training.
1
@PhilippSeven Russia has done everything from using reservists to instructors, to troops pulled from the Far East, Syria, etc. prisoner battalions, mercenaries, so Ukraine defeated a lot of people but there's more always coming. The entire group of Russian troops isn't static.
1
There's not doing too well in terms of fuel, runways and the ability to conduct SEAD. Russia has S-300 and S-400 SAM sites capable of shooting down fighters. With a no-fly zone the enforcer aircraft could slip inside Ukrainian airspace, shoot down violators and go back. An Ukrainian-operated aircraft is always in danger of having the enemy shoot it down in the air or ground through missile strike.
1
You're gonna shoot Mexicans with HIMARS you sick man?
1
@JessePinkmanv That's not the point. The enforcers are allowed to fly because they're there to protect the area assigned. Violators of no-fly zones are presumably there to conduct combat operations. It's like the police shooting at criminals, supposedly people shouldn't be shooting guns in the street but sometimes it's necessary to stop others from doing it.
1
I've seen Nokia brand rifle ammo.
1
Air superiority isn't being contested and Russian commanders have admitted to have lost artillery superiority in some areas.
1
So Russia knocks the table over, and it's Zelensky who must bend over and pick up the broken dishes? Is Russia going to start WW3 over some ships?
1
Except that's false.
1
@CaseyChesshir Recent video from the Russian artillerymen show refurbished shells missing the explosive.
1
I knew about several of these topics independently and never tied them together. It all makes sense now.
1
@david7384 Cope. Oryx is by definition open source, and there's both pro-Ukraine and pro-Russia observers going over the data to double check. There's been days where Russia suffered "negative losses" due to corrections being issued. Oryx is the best resource that is not classified and thus out of reach. You cannot "disqualify" someone for using the best possible info. Want to correct him? Break the law and publish the classified data you have access to Bet you won't.
1
More than 200k were sent. Reservists in BARS units, PMCs and shadow mobilization before the mobilization added to the count.
1
I assume that it's just that most people aren't interested in military matters and don't understand how the no-fly zone gets enforced. Americans are within ICBM range so war would happen.
1
There are no numbers from Israel and Turkey didn't publish them.
1
@aleong.9566 It's not an opinion. It's a lie. Israel never published those numbers and a website being based in Turkey doesn't mean the Turkish government backs those numbers. Some insane person dreamed those numbers and published them online. Youtube is American. I post Russia lost 10 million soldiers. Therefore America published the numbers.
1
Yeah it only cost them the brutalization of their own people. There's satellites for recon, you know?
1
@andreypetrov4868 Spain isn't genociding people. Scotland has failed the referendum for independence. The CalExit movement has literal Russian assets involved.
1
Russia is forced to go on offensive. Bite and hold tactics. Russia is on the defense yet they have to throw reserves at the front in offensives against Ukraine to prevent territorial loss. So Ukraine is doing defensive pressure. Move forward but defend to catch the enemy.
