@limedickandrew6016 Russia can't supply itself, they purchased Iranian equipment. Chinese "non-weapon" equipment too like uniforms and plate carrier vests.

Spare us the crocodile tears Alexey, if China annexes your homeland are you gonna flee or fight? And if you say fight, will you fight alone when everyone flees?

Well, several times Russian milbloggers have complained about Ukraine preserving officers and NCOs so their casualties are mostly replaceable, while Russia loses officers and junior command along with their privates. They say Ukraine's army is degraded from fighting but retains quality, while their own army degrades from fighting but also loses quality over time.

Uh, no. Before mobilization there was "shadow mobilization". Russia voluntold businesses to gather their men and voluntell them to serve. State factories had recruitment quotas last year. That's your kontraktniki - men useful for the workforce. Several regions in Russia have complained about the lacked of skilled laborers who could repair infrastructure and services.

Russia was deploying HIV positive soldiers summer 2022. So basically Russia is a year ahead of Ukraine in terms of being in trouble.

@joshuapaul2022 Sneed.

1) NATO "expansion" was basically forced by Eastern Europe trying to get protection from Russia after Transnistria and Chechnya. 2) Putin wrote (or had ghostwritten) an essay about what to do with Ukraine. 3) Even if the West pushed for the summer offensive, they actually thought it would succeed. Like the Germans saying "just go around the minefields" suggested they actually knew very little.

Chinese artillery shows up on counterbattery radar just like Russian artillery. Return to sender works independently of nationality.

@ezekielbrockmann114 Doesn't matter how many shells China produces when artillerymen can't regrow limbs.

Fit for military service during peacetime is not the same as fit for duty in wartime. I think that during the Iraq war the US opened up recruitment to 39 years of age as the upper limit for some MOS. In many countries during peacetime after 25 they'll tell you to GTFO of the recruitment office unless you have a college degree.
1
Yes. They won't recruit from them because it's the deal with the devil - protect the regime and you stay safe from war. The moment the regime sends them to die they're gonna step aside and let it fall.
1
Here's the deal: we do that to recruit from Western countries, but in that case people from the same countries who posted any message in support of Russia or Putin have to be tried for treason. We also create penal battalions to go in before the Ukraine flag brigade.

Cope. The US left Ukraine and said "good luck but you'll lose in three days". The US didn't want to help at all.

You can't turn a bunch of alcoholics and babushkas into warfighters.
1
@limedickandrew6016 Well, considering that the alcoholics were mobilized in Russia last year, things can't be going too well.

The 72k number is based on the Shoigu statement to TASS, a Russian news agency. Why does MacGregor believe the numbers from the Russian Minister of Defense?
