One side deliverately picked a strategy of placing as many civilians in the crossfire as possible. We're reaching the point people would argue we shouldn't have fought Nazi Germany because there were civilians in the way.

Remarks are one thing. Actions are another. As they say, words are cheap. If we took words at face value, then Ukrainians are also guilty of genocide over things they have said about Russia.

The issue is tying those actions to a deliberate and systematic campaign. Meanwhile the removal of children to be raised as Russian is 100% a smoking gun evidence of intent to erase Ukrainians.

I can find you examples of Ukrainian troops saying much worse. People can say vile stuff as a way to hype themselves and others for a fight, but still conduct themselves properly in warfare.

@alexanderbarkman7832 Almost all of the Hamas tunnels run along busy streets. It's nearly impossible to nail a tunnel without shaking the foundations of buildings nearby. Gaza is one big human shield. You can't drop a bomb in Gaza without hitting a human shield much like you can't go to LA and throw a rock without hitting an influencer or struggling actor.
