@notawinemom8540 "1) There is no vaccine that is 100% effective. That has never existed" - Sure, but the efficacy is high up there to be considered worthwhile. This one doesn't clear the bar. "2) We can reach heard immunity with a certain percentage of the population being vaccinated" - That's not true because it's still transmitting and mutating. The herd is still spreading among them, then one day 6 months later the antibodies wear off and we're back to coughing on each other. "There's no guessing here" - Except there is, because they know they're losing effectiveness with variants and they're giving you more of the same product rather than a reformulated dose. "because these folks continue taking up all the ICU beds" - Then we need to stop telling people to go home and come back when they're critical so they can be stuck in a ventilator.

I did care. Many did. That's why there were always medical and religious exemptions, and in some states even philosophical exemptions. We had no QR codes or tracking apps. It wasn't the same. And you're at best naive for pretending the same, or worse case scenario you're a sniveling liar twisting the facts for political gains. What do you have to gain with QR codes and apps on our phones? I don't need to travel to "certain countries" to make a living. But people need jobs to make a living and you want them to be denied. Also, the military is a bad example. You voluntarily sign away your rights. And as a consequence, I remember there was a controversy with an anthrax vaccine.

@benjaminpeters6729 No. The actual trial was only for measurement of symptoms. Not prevention of infection. It's not a "break through" because there's nothing to break.
1
@benjaminpeters6729 They measured symptoms two weeks after the second dose to get the 95% relative risk reduction.

@benjaminpeters6729 It contradicts what you said?

@benjaminpeters6729 What something was designed for and what it does isn't the same.

@benjaminpeters6729 And data from the real world shows the studies are not applicable to real life.

@notawinemom8540 "We could have started this school year with no masks required for HS students" - But vaccinated people still need to wear masks. You can't even get the story straight. "The faster your immune system response to the virus, the less virus you spread" - But you still spread. 6 months later we're back to the starting point. "No one ever questioned any of this before 2020" - Before 2020 we were not being threatened with losing jobs or being kicked out of university. "It's like everyone forgot everything they already knew about vaccines once politicians politicized the virus." - YOU people politicized it. "have no issue taking experimental drugs not FDA approved" - They're not experimental when they have decades of use. "2020 was the worst year of my life. I want this to be over." - You're this close to having an epiphany. This is over when you say it's over. "When is this going to end? Never?!" - If you allow them to. "She missed 6 days of school & by Tuesday night I receive an email from the bio teacher that she's failing. Do you see the problem here?" - Yes. I see the problem and I pointed it out over a year ago. "keeping this going is really putting the rest of society out?" - It's not us prolonging this. It's not us paranoid about a sore throat. It's not us demanding society to grind to a halt and hit "pause" on the economy. You look around and think who's actually ruining your life. Hint: it's the people who are willing to keep this going no matter how much you comply. We take the two shots, they'll demand a fourth. This stops when you say it stops.

That's the rock that repels tigers logic. I have a rock, there's no tigers around, clearly the rock is working. Certainly couldn't be due to the students being young? Or them already having immunity from last year? Or the fact that most cases have always been asymptomatic from the start?

@user-md3wm7vu1f Nobody forces you to wear a seatbelt or put on a helmet. You can still do as you please as long as there's no police around. I can't remove the shot once it's in me.
