@gottagowork "stronger mitigation efforts, means to enforce them, and abiding citizens" - Nice sleight of hand. Whenever the first two don't work, you simply claim non-compliance. "and mask use is impeccable - even before pandemic" - But mask wearing doesn't correlate to transmission rates in Europe, independently of compliance.

@gottagowork Yeah and you think Europeans were not unruly either? You think people who want to party or break curfew are all right wingers? What a joke. You think that fatigue won't set in after your measures fail time and time again?
2
@ryancappo That's great. How many will die if we do that? No power plants, no water treatment, no tending of the crops.

@MrLasso15 When facts are lies and the person who spouted those "facts" doesn't believe in them... what does that tell you?

@stevenm732 Pretty sure his model predicted Sweden would have like 3-5 times more fatalities than they did.

Huh, we had swine flu in 2009?
1
@GG-kt2uk It was a pandemic. If you look it up it's literally called the "2009 swine flu pandemic".

Not necessarily. Some hospitals would have all the covid cases sent to their covid unit, so they were flooded, while many hospitals had wards with nobody in them. They weren't "shut down", they'd just delay you unless you needed urgent care. I had an appointment cancelled when they introduced the delays. The system texted me three times about the cancellation because the system expects a rescheduling. But they weren't going to reschedule.

So you'll ruin the lives of millions of young people because you're afraid of a 0.5% chance of dying. If you were 75 or over, then sure. At that point it's like 2-4% chance of dying.

@gottagowork "We didn't throw "Covid parties because fake news"." - We also had parties where cops were shot at when they arrived to break it up. You're talking to an European too. I know what went on. My next door neighbours had dinner parties every friday and saturday. I went out too. "They will be facing hardship ahead" - Been hearing that for a year and a half. Meanwhile look at the UK - N antibodies have flatlined. "Any signs of inflation yet?" - Yeah, the Euro can't buy what it could in 2019. Some products have had 15-20% increase. It's easy to miss them.

Oh, you did? So convenient you can't prove a negative.
1
And what would have they done? Refuse to stop international travel? Deny that there's airborne transmission for weeks? That's what all the pandemic response "teams" did all over the world.
1
@kingade2931 Ebola is deadlier but less transmissible. The experts politicized this mess in the first place.
1
@ryancappo Wearing the P100 all day would just clog the filters and require replacements. Deploying the national guard takes away people who work regular jobs while not on duty. So in the end you're still using the same people.
1
@ryancappo And China dealt with the problem by stopping to count the cases. They just started blaming other countries for new infections.
1
@panpluto13 Your standard of "lockdown" would mean killing everyone due to starvation (no shopping for food), dying from the cold (no heat because no power plants are working), thirst (no water treatment).

And they became permanent and a way to have zero cases. The goalposts shifted. The narrative was that 15 days would allow us to get the virus and live. Now you're treated like a plague rat if you're not scared of getting it.
