  4.  @mcribisback7105  First, Russia's defense budget benefits from purchasing power parity. Russia pays less for their own products so their budget is 220 billion USD equivalent. Second, we didn't send advanced air defense until the Iranian drones arrived. We mostly sent short range Stingers, which were declared obsolete in 2020 and a replacement should be selected next year. So no, it wasn't state if the art anything giving them trouble. It was Soviet/Warsaw Pact stuff and some old Stingers.

  12.  @majormoolah5056  It wasn't assymetry. Iraq had the Soviet concept of air defense (and some Western tech) and the US had the game plan to destroy Soviet defenses. It was a parity exchange, it just happens that the Soviet concept was proven wrong by the American concept.
