I haven't watched a lot of perfume ads but at least half of the modern ones I have seen still show a man and woman in pursuit of each other. I guess the straights are keeping the industry afloat, it seems.

@garymcjerry Most of the wear and tear on a car can be addressed by swappable parts. The battery pack issue should not be as complicated as it is, nor made even worse by making the battery part of the load-bearing chassis structure as it has been proposed.

@info0 Hydrogen is just less energy efficient. Combustion with hydrogen has so many problems that hydrogen fuel cells powering electric motors is the only way. It's just electric but with more waste.

@cylontoaster7660 It's not about deciding based on an ad. I got some Marshall headphones. Yeah the brand that makes the guitar amps. They were on a massive discount which put them on the same bracket as the equivalent JBL ones. The marketing worked on me. I used to play guitar, I like the square design of the ear cups, and people think of rock music when they see the Marshall logo. That's cool. Now if Marshall rebranded to this 2020s slop I'd get the JBL ones. Not because an ad changed my mind but because the brand is no longer cool. The entire marketing industry has spent decades getting consumers to identify with brands. It wasn't enough to promote a product to generate sales, they had to go further and make us think we represent the brand and the brand represents us. But this is a double edged sword. Now they run the risk of trying to appeal to a type of person you don't want to be or be associated with.
