Comments by "Titanium Rain" (@ChucksSEADnDEAD) on "Why Honey is the biggest YouTube scam ever | MegaLag's Exposè" video.
Again? That was discovered in 2018, it was how Memeology 101 blew up.

Watch the whole thing. Honey is basically using mafia tactics. They walk up to businesses and say "hey, nice business you have here, it would be a shame if we offered everyone discount codes" and companies agree to cooperate with Honey to hide the codes. By using Honey you actually miss out on the best deals because they take the comission in exchange for not showing you the discount code.

Caps Lock is cruise control for cool.

No. The point is that there's two salesmen. Your sale is locked to one salesman. Then when you check out the other salesman asks if you would like for him to see if there's discounts. When you say yes he uses the discount code to override the first salesman. So the guy who deserved the comission gets shafted. There was no double discount anywhere. One guy was just sitting near the checkout with the intent to scalp the comission by talking to you about discounts. The problem here is that the honest salesman can't give you discounts. And often the cheating salesman can't give discounts either, he'll just ask you if you want to check so that he can sign into the system and ring your purchase as his sale. Without you noticing.

That's what the video explains too but doesn't make it explicit enough - companies have the choice to partner with Honey and suppress coupon codes in exchange for letting them keep the affiliate link. Honey would be easily blacklisted if they didn't present a favorable alterntive - hiding coupons from customers which saves companies money.

Manscaped is less of a scam than Ridge. I got the wallet and key organizer clones off aliexpress. Manscaped is overpriced, Ridge is MASSIVELY overpriced.

No. 1. Honey is proposing to find discounts. They are a salesman walking up to you. It just so happens they do it once and it applies to all future purchases. But they were the ones who approached you to scalp sales. 2. This is even exacerbated when there are no coupon codes and the extension still tries to get you to click. Again, they walked up to you. Even when there are no discounts. 3. User didn't choose to make Honey their salesman on every store. The entire process is happening outside a regular user's view. It was just a coupon finder, which is what the user wants. 4. User is not getting a better deal as businesses cooperating with Honey can suppress codes.

Just don't use BetterHelp lol

I agree because the influencers/reviewers make sakes and Honey just freeloads. But Honey makes up for it by charging a lower rate on comissions and offering retailers to hide coupons so that in the end the companies are dissuaded from blacklisting Honey. That's the three pronged attack.

They don't save you money. Because businesses lose money, Honey is essentially using mafia tactics to get businesses on their side. Honey will hide coupon codes and you think you got the best deal when you didn't. You lose money.
1
It does hurt you. It hurts the content creators you watch, and hides coupon codes from you as Honey is essentially using mafia tactics to pressure businesses to work with them. Honey will hide codes from you.

@ZOMBIEo07 bro there's no intelligence involved, the scam works precisely by tricking the consumer, not the company. They use the consumer as an unwitting accomplice.
