  1.  @mrfrostygiant4725  military surplus is a way to make a buck. Disposing of old gear costs money. Dealers buy it for cheap, sell for a little profit. Surplus stores don't exist to outfit soldiers, they exist to save money. If the gear was for soldiers the government wouldn't get rid of the equipment.

  2. You are lying to yourself if you think this is normal. I've seen all sorts of debacles in Western militaries but nothing as appaling as this. They even lack socks.
