ITT: flagrant targeting of innocent civilians is excused by people who dismiss war crimes due to "context".

@dragonsystems5973 yes, the blatant targeting of civilians was unecessary. Especially in Europe, since the Reich fought to the bitter end, making all the civilian deaths useless.

Vehicles in direct contact with and ocean's supply of water can deal with meltdowns much better than air-cooled ones. Also a ships can malfunction in the middle of the ocean and still be rescued. An airplane that dies mid-air will splatter the nuclear reactor into the ground.

@happydemon3038 that's why i said "malfunction" and not "lose power" because losing power is one thing and losing authority over the plane is another. "landing in bodies of water" - can still lead to the plane breaking apart, and planes often fly over land "with a ruptured hull." - a sunk ship would have a dead man switch that triggered a core shutdown, or the crew's last actions before drowning could be ensuring the core will not enter a meltdown in case of the damage prevents cooling. An airplane falling out of the sky will drive the core into the ground and break through the shielding.

Not the enemy. Innocent civilians.

@Flashblade that's a fucking lie. It was a deliberate choice that made no actual difference in the outcome in the war.

@DavidVercettiMovies so planes lever land or crash?
