"His license basically says "You're allowed to carry non loaded sport rifles in a concealed manner"" - Maybe he was breaking the law, but he posted pictures of his carry gun in his inside the waistband holster. Also, if the boog happens nobody cares about the law, and having a gun at home and no carry license is already better than having none.

  6. This is horseshit. The milspec is the Colt TDP. Which is why FN pays royalties. Yeah, it's made by the lowest bidder. The bidder which can offer the requested levels of quality for the lowest price. And they are contractually obligated to provide rifles that meet spec. In the comercial market? The military doesn't check the rifles. How do you know it's milspec? You can't exactly perform all the verification at home and even if you could here's no contractual obligation to provide you a rifle that meets any spec at all. If you have proof of a brand using their own technical data package that beats the Colt TDP in tolerancing, feel free to share.

Which is exactly why they stopped the civilian manufacturing recently, if they can't price their rifles lower it's preferable to just get paid 50 million to make X number of rifles and not worry about the AR market.

  11. Different context. In this case price went up due to high demand. If AR-15s were banned even the trashiest ARs would increase in price without becoming better. But a better rifle will be worth more.
