@springbloom5940 if the striker was so out of spec it also slipped past the striker block plunger, there's no fail safe that's going to stop it.

@johnnyfiveo Doesn't matter. Even with no live rounds on set, blanks are "live" enough to hurt actors and if they catch a speck of burning powder in their eye the production halts while they recover. So there is a requirement to purposefully aim blanks away from other actors. Ever seen the briefcase scene in Collateral? The robbers were added digitally. Tom Cruise filmed the scene alone with a green screen in that alley. No live rounds on set, they still wouldn't risk that injury.

@Genesis23OPB The John Wick movies are not filmed with blank guns. It's CGI.
