@Marinealver wrong. Google has done everything from collaborating with China to help the government develop their drones (which they stopped due to outrage among their own workers). They're definitely a line and Alphabet/Google crossed it.

Soturian It doesn't cost them a lot of money because they run ads on demonetized videos. They just pocket the money. I watch Forgotten Weapons and Ian himself manually disabled the monetization of his channel when youtube started changing policies. Yet today I got 4 ads on his video. "they have to weigh that against likely civil and even criminal liability" - name one time YouTube was held as criminally liable for anything. The fact of the matter is that if you're familiar with youtube lawsuit history regarding copyright infringement you'll realize that one of their defenses is that they can't be held liable for what gets posted on their website because there's too much content to control. "During the surge in Iraq some al-Qaeda guys posted a video of them detonating a land mine" - and ISIS posted videos here. Twitter also allowed ISIS accounts to be ran for a long time. "Funding terrorism is a felony." - but people getting demonetized are clearly not terrorists. I can't understand. I point you to a video that explains exactly what are youtube's methods and reasons and you go off about things that are clearly non-issues.

Doesn't work when youtubers are entirely replaceable.

@gandalfstormcloud7514 watch Youtube's Biggest Lie by Nerdcity. They demonetize LGBT content and have forced those creators to use codewords so that they don't say the "bad" words that get them demonetized. You don't see them complaning because... We don't watch that type of content. I had heard of complaints but only saw how bad it is thanks to the testing done by Nerdcity.

Soturian bs, watch Nerdcity's "Youtube's Biggest Lie". It's not about liability.

Soturian "then proceed to quote the one I already mentioned" - wait, where are the legal proceedings? I can only find copyright cases and something about a new UK law. Not any convictions on aiding terrorism. "companies are talking about handing over mod duties to the FBI" - that's not going to happen. Mod teams are absolutely massive, they work non-stop and for very low pay. The FBI doesn't have the budget to take over. Not to mention the FBI guys are so incompetent they accidentally exposed themselves as agitators on 8chan by taking screenshots of threads with the (you) marker on posts responding to FBI agents.

YouTube doesn't have a monopoly.

Watch Nerdcity's "Youtube's Biggest Lie". Everyone is getting hit by demonetization. So stop being so simplistic and stop glamorizing Soviet crimes.

So shouldn't more people flood bitchute to dillute it?

YouTube doesn't have a monopoly, literally anyone can make a website.

Soturian if they independently tested what triggers the demonetization then it allows them to fly under the radar.

Youtube just pockets the money. I got 4 ads on a Forgotten Weapons video, and Ian manually disabled monetization on his channel.
