@srankoutcast348 "doing something constructive" - almost nobody does that and that's a fact. Vaulting over concrete blocks ain't constructive either.

@Paul Martin I guess my comment was too negative compared to what I actually think, but I have to point out that for most people a lot of physical skills are not actually useful at all, so you can choose physical skills you want to practice based on personal preference and just maintaining your health. Most people aren't running from the cops, and some of the parkour moves are more artistic than functional. Weakness is relative. Freerunning doesn't make someone strong enough to beat olympic lifters or strongmen. It doesn't make someone strong enough to grapple or box. On the other way, most fighters and lifters can't do a lot of gymnastics exercises. It's all about what you want to do, because unless you want to become a jack of all trades it will be difficult to train every single form of strength. Do you need to move furniture? Do you want to defend yourself? Do you want to impress people with tricks? Are you a person who works at an office all day and you just want to do something to keep you active?

@srankoutcast348 Digging a hole and filling it back up is "active", but it's not really constructive if you ended up in the same place as you started. There needs to be an actual goal and progress for you to claim it's constructive, simply being "active" by itself isn't a goal.

@requiemagent3014 Casino Royale came out in 2006, a year before Assassin's Creed, and included free running in the intro sequence. Parkour had to already be popular for movie studios to be putting it in major film productions.
