  6. The defense of Mariupol contributed to Russia's situation now. Azov SSO was active the whole time during the war, Kraken is made up of former Azov members, and they raised the 3rd Assault Brigade.

  10. There's lack of ammo and parts. The Soviet Union fell in 1991. So Soviet inheritance aircraft aren't exactly getting new parts from Russia.

  18. They're trying to phase them out because there's a lack of parts. It's an ancient aircraft. The manufacturer doesn't exist anymore. Helicopters can hover behind objects for safety. A-10s need to expose themselves to attack.

  19. Such excellent credentials, the US had to bail out their country during WW2. Mariupol was the definition of a Pyrrhic victory. Instead of fighting smart, Russia allowed itself to get bogged down and waste time and lives in a surrounded town. Mariupol, much like Kiev and Severodonetsk, ensured Russian strategic loss by throwing away much needed manpower and resources at short term tactical victories. And the same is happening right now at Bakhmut.

  31.  @KawaTony1964  It would be. Diversifying a force always costs more. You're having to split your training of pilots and maintenance crews, your logistics, etc. The A-10 is a museum piece. The reason it's being considered for retirement is literal lack of parts.

  36.  @TheRealBobBasher  Blindly firing 50 cals into the air isn't a reliable way of bringing down aircraft. Russians have radar guided 23mm and 30mm AA guns that fire at high RPMs.
