  5. Such excellent credentials, the US had to bail out their country during WW2. Mariupol was the definition of a Pyrrhic victory. Instead of fighting smart, Russia allowed itself to get bogged down and waste time and lives in a surrounded town. Mariupol, much like Kiev and Severodonetsk, ensured Russian strategic loss by throwing away much needed manpower and resources at short term tactical victories. And the same is happening right now at Bakhmut.
