@actually5004 I hope you're getting paid because if you post this nonsense for free I pity you.

@gratius1394 Yeah, there's no "peacetime" army, this is the army. Adding conscripts to the mix would do wonders for the numbers, but would they have to run across fields? They'd need tanks and armored vehicles to advance.

@187Rajah Do you just copypaste that propaganda? Are you paid or you do it for free?

@Borat_Kazakh We've only seen a 1 second video of a Su-24 that was absolutely torched. It was probably in a line side by side with other aircraft that probably got damaged or destroyed. There's what seemed like a fuel depot with 5 fuel trucks burned to the ground. But more interestingly, a video of a car park 500m away from the base, where there's a car with a huge metal girder shoved through the window. It didn't fall on the car. It flew straight through the side. With that much force, debris thrown into the air had to come down with a vengeance on the aircraft.

They reached the breaking point - they lucked out because the war became unpopular in the US. By their own admission the Tet Offensive broke them.

The big difference is that the Afghan war was lost by the... Afghan government. The Soviet-aligned government lost control which sent Afghanistan into a civil war. A Ukrainian victory scenario means the Ukrainian state still exists, still functions, is still able to provide emergency services and establish rule of law, etc. which offer a smoother rebuilding.

The Hawk was mostly replaced by the Patriot. Some allies which have not purchased Patriots still have Hawks.

If Belarusian troops leave the country, Lukashenko is in danger of a coup.

These are the tails from rockets with cluster submunitions. From the uneven spacing of the tail fin hinges, they're most likely from the Uragan 9M27K series. When the cluster warhead releases the payload, the tail section piledrives into the ground. That's why in the early days we saw a lot of CCTV and dashcam footage of tail fins sticking themselves into the ground, sometimes reported as duds. And it's the small bomblets that explode, so if an area has been cleared of UXO the tail section is safe. However, some of the craters may have been dug with entrenching tools and the tail section planted. I don't know enough about types of soil. If they tried to fake a Ukrainian attack and pointed the tails at their own territory then we're really dealing with "special" people here. The craters in the city of Energodar of Ukraine were captured on video and those are real and point to Russian controlled territory.

@AstroGremlinAmerican there are many people still watching on computers without an account (at work/school libraries) or on TVs where hitting the like isn't as instinctive as on the browser ir app.
10
@redkellbell6169 many people are straight up contrarians who want to see Biden fail here, or are tired of military expenditure after all the blunders (especially the Afghanistan collapse). Which are very bad reasons - even if it wasn't a moral duty to help Ukraine, we also assured them security with the Budapest memorandum.

@eduwino151 It's a waste to fire HIMARS at grunts. It's the artillerymen who need to be on the receiving end.
9
It's a doubled-edged sword. They need to film and photograph everything they can that shows progress for their propaganda.
9
Is it interesting? It's as interesting as noticing the sky is blue.
8
Donetsk city has been under Russian occupation since around 2014.
8
@Bryan-Hensley Seems unlikely because Cuba got pissed at Russia for trying to recruit Cuban men.
8
@richardsadventures4958 if he had done his job well, he'd at least try to salvage what was left of his dignity. He just stopped caring and puts on the clown makeup.
8
Yeap, looked like the images of a fire in a storage shed, seen plenty of those. Happens every summer in the countryside, metal roof collapses from the heat.
8
@gratius1394 The capabilities of the Soviets were greatly aided by foreign aid. Lend-Lease gave the Red Army the trucks they needed, and helped their supply lines with train cars and locomotives. They also fought a Germany that had the US and allies doing trade deals to starve Germany out of strategic materials, and American/British bombers pummeled German industry. Let's re-run a simulation of the Eastern Front but this time the US aids Germany. Wouldn't be as pretty for the Soviets, would it?

Talking to Serb nationalists online, I get the sense they know Russian barbarism because they cheer it and even mimic it.
7
Plot twist: they need Viktor Bout to ask him where the nukes are.
7
@johnhaller5851 "The Chinese were able to blind the F16 radar" - That's not how it works in real life.
7
@DevineAbyss You know, in most of the Western world aviation was connected to naval tradition. The men crossing seas on airplanes had to navigate like sailors as GPS didn't exist. So in aviation altitude is in feet, distance in nautical miles and speed is in knots. The former Soviet nations and China famously use metric. Because they're the exception. Everyone else uses feet. It's not confusing or dangerous. The only accident I can think of had nothing to do with pilots but ground crews confusing pounds and kilograms of fuel.

I saw a meme that was Russian girls with a camera: "I'm going to start an onlyfans" Russian boys with a camera: "This message is directed to the Minister of Defense. We are out of supplies and ammunition. Our commanders are sending us into unsupported assaults. We are not mutineering or refusing to fight..."
6
The modern version is Americans bringing the Burger King quiosk into their bases.
6
@slaninica He was allowed to chose deportation and he came back. That's why there's a large time gap.
6
@oi2837 Crimea has been the place for summer resorts since the Soviet era. Since Russia has exercised control over the land since 2014 they probably think of Crimea as Russia proper and simply ignored that there was a war 200km away.
6
Runways can be repaired within a few days. There's a reason Cold War anti-runway weapons usually dispersed landmines and bomblets that exploded at random intervals - dissuading crews from repairing them. The most effective anti-runway bombs even had a rocket that made them pierce through the concrete pad and explode underneath, lifting it and making the repair harder as concrete takes more time to cure.
5
Lend-Lease hasn't even kicked in yet.
5
Well, in part because Solovyov's show is intended to seed the talking points for the segment of the population watching (mostly pensioners).
5
If the Kerch bridge gets hit again, Russians wil not be able to fight for it no matter how much they want to keep it. Meanwhile Donetsk is still connected to Russia.
5
@byrnemeister2008 "The UN doesn’t have an army" - They do have a peacekeeping force that gathers troops from several countries and puts them under UN control. They also delegate military tasks to coalitions like NATO.
5
@2Aftw Anyone who's been around for a whole knows about the finance vids, he even mentioned it a few times, you're not delivering any expose here. Lira would never post anything that damaged his case, he only let you see what he wanted you to see.
5
Russia sells "Urals" I believe.
5
@kaboonali5466 Torture is when your decades of chain smoking catches up with you.
5
@marymarlow3646 General Arma-getting-outta-here has exactly what to prove his worth? It's the third General with a "badass" nickname they've had. The first attack was optimistic, but Ukraine did not have proper defenses set up. This time they'll walk straight into the X.
5
@MaximumEfficiency So, saying the truth?
5
Even during the height of the Cold War soviet officers in charge who were in condition to launch refused to do it. It's not what Putin is willing to do. It's what the Navy and strategic rocket forces are willing to do.
4
"I'M MAKING THE MOTHER OF ALL OMELETS HERE, PUTIN. CAN'T FRET OVER EVERY DESTROYED BRIDGE."
4
Far too much materiel left behind and too many POWs to spring a trap.
4
Su-24s. Saki is a naval air base and they operate Su-30SMs and S-24Ms with the 43rd.
4
Isn't India demanding a massive discount? Russia loses, India profits, we get oil anyway albeit at a higher price.
4
@laszlozoltan5021 Missiles burn out the rocket engine in a matter of seconds. They leave smoke trails when launched. When flying through the air they are unpowered and either falling in a ballistic arc or gliding. A ballistic missile falling at Mach 3 will just plunge and detonate without anyone seeing what happened. No smoke. No trail. Almost invisible. Even at high speeds it takes several minutes for a missile to cover large distances, and the rocket motor would have to be Saturn V sized to burn that long.
4
@paulgibbon5991 people missed the ironic twist on your comment
4
@ujbx Missing the forest for the trees. The critical point was the Solidarity movement in Poland picking up steam and instead of repeating the Czechoslovakia or Hungary gameplan they decided to sit that one out because Afghanistan had exposed their military. Russia was confident in sending troops to the Baltics but not Poland. That was when the penny dropped. The Vietnam projection theory doesn't make sense. Politics ended the war rather than the war ending politics. It was the Watergate scandal which put the nail in the coffin and took away the political stability to commit to South Vietnam.
4
He has repeated Russian propaganda. A lot of the "lies" are twisted narratives meant to make the US look bad. Kuwait wasn't part of NATO, yet most people support what the US did to defend them.
4
Hi Sugar, have you watched the recent video by Dr. Mike Hawk saying that Putin soiled himself after two pints of Shandy? Just wanted to know your thoughts...
4
They're actually pretty good, the movie is a comedy based on a book that was written by Col. Burton himself. It was a biased tale full of self-praise. The Battle of 73 Easting during Desert Storm had two Bradleys come across T-72s in defensive positions, and they managed to kill 5 tanks on their own before help arrived.
4
They go online and say Ukaine did it.
