At that point we will have to also discuss the relentless bombing of German industry. Soviet heavy industry was also built by Americans through shell companies. Their car factories were always meant to be reconfigured for war production, which is why the US did not help nearly as much with aviation or naval yards. They were ok with the USSR as a regional power, but had the foresight to now hand them global power on a silver platter.

I don't like to be crass but what's gonna happen to them or their male relatives will be worse. Through history people have risen up against leaders just as bad or worse. I can't criticize them for choosing self-preservation. I can say "too little, too late".

At one point all the Katyushas (Stalin's Organ) were American trucks - Studebakers.

No. There could be people afraid to die who are still Z. There could be FSB agents. And it's perfect for Putin. He gets rid of refuseniks and keeps loyal troops. Want to deliver a blow to Putin? Force them to fight. They'll frag officers and surrender to the AFU.

The leaked ministry of finance document about payments to families amounted to around 50k KIA as of June. Those do not include the proxies or Wagner. With a 1:2 KIA/WIA rate thanks to their shoddy combat medicine and medevac that's about 150k casualties, which makes sense. Shadow mobilization, conscription of Donbas civilians, volunteer battalions, the gutting of other units inside Russia, etc made up for the losses but still left gaps, such as Kharkiv.

@LeanderMr "the Soviet Union had a very large heavy industry before and during the war and the ressources to sustain it" - The Holodomor literally happened because the Soviet Union had to increase grain exports to be able to pay for all the imported machines. They did not have heavy industry. They purchased it from abroad with the blood of their own citizens. A common tankie talking point was that Stalin took a stagnant and a backwater of a Russian empire and industrialized it. Even though they twist the story into a positive thing and pretend the West didn't help, at least even evil Marxist-Leninists will say that the Soviet Union had to build the industry, not that they simply inherited it.

@LeanderMr "the Soviets made huge effort to develop a large heavy industry during the late 1920s and 1930s" - BY PURCHASING IT FROM AMERICANS AND HIRING AMERICANS TO DESIGN THEIR FACTORY FLOORS. LIKE I SAID EARLIER. "also the holodomor happened in 1932-33, it really does not sound like you are aware of that in your comment?" - I am. It's you who's not aware of what I said. I clearly said that it was the US that built the Soviet industry through shell companies - that means PRE-WAR. Why would shell companies be necessary during lend lease?

The American trucks were more important than those 13,000 tanks.

Why does every video about Ukraine has people talking about the equipment in Afghanistan? Rhetorical question, I know why.

Human swarms don't work. Artillery does quick work on them.

Because police picks people off the crowd and nobody does anything. In Iran protesters gang up on police and beat them down.
