@a5cent People in the West are like that. Everyone says "I'm not paid enough to care". And they're right. The alarm boxes deter theft. If someone tries to pick them open, hopefully the security guard sees on camera. If the thief manages to do it without getting caught... dude was determined and experienced enough. Write it off as a loss, 99% of thieves are not that skilled or determined, they go for easier targets.

@ashscott6068 Not sure why your comment is hidden but that's 100% true. There's diminishing returns from increased security, when just a little investment will deter most theft and "keep people honest". Trying to stop determined shoplifters just increases costs and makes shopping less convenient to customers as more people get stopped at the exit or cashiers struggle with security boxes and alarm tags.
