  3. Yes and maybe no. Some debt can be forgiven and wiped out, some debt can be given decades to pay back. The UK made the last lend lease payments from WW2 in the 1980s if I'm not mistaken. We'll give them 40 years to pay, easily.

  7. They were in the process of shutting down, which means they'd have to be certified to continue running. Probably get inspected, more spare parts made, etc. Expect them to have to shut down for a couple years anyway.

  8. But they can't. Using nukes would make them a global pariah even if they survived. Which they wouldn't. That's the reason. They can't. Pure and simply. Everyone else in the world would witness it and attack. When someone becomes unhinged and a threat, game theory states you take out the threat or else you're next. At that point even China and North Korea would probably send their nukes.

  9.  @JosefK2275  No, they're not. There's still countries willing to trade with them. They're mostly impoverished and undeveloped countries, but still. The image of a strong country will crumble if they have to throw a temper tantrum and nuke other countries because they lost a war. This isn't an existencial threat. They'll just lose and continue to be Russia, albeit more of a hermit kingdom than before. The purpose of nukes is deterrence. The US only used nukes in Japan because nobody else had them, and as a way to flex on the Soviet Union. After the Soviet Union got theirs through spying, the use of nukes is the big no-no.

Infrastructure can be rebuilt. It's evil to forgive evil. It's evil to let murderers off the hook. Putin cannot be taken seriously. 2008 he says Crimea is Ukrainian. 2014 he seizes it. Provoked? How? The US didn't care about the 2013 Canada agreement to have joint training with China's PLA. Obama didn't invade Canada. Trump didn't invade Canada. And Biden didn't invade Canada although by 2019/2020 that treaty was under the microscope as public opinion turned against China. Missile shields are great, everyone should have them.

  19. They do help. Better EW, better situational awareness, better radars, better weapons. HARM missiles force SAM operators to shut down radars as they home in on the radar emissions.
