A Wagner pilot just got shot down. Turns out he had been kicked out of the Russian airforce for crashing an aircraft doing a stunt. That's the kind of people working for Wagner.

There was no "fighting back". You don't even understand what happened in Afghanistan and Iraq. Iraq had a civil war and terrorists fanned the flames. It was the US that changed their anti-insurgency tactics to get some of the insurgents to switch sides and fight against terror.

The issue is that Blackwater was hired to do a job and they did it poorly. Wagner exists as an arm of the Russian government. They receive Russian government fake IDs. They are flown around by Russian military aircraft. They have offices and training camps inside of military bases. This isn't how mercenaries work.

Being made official was the way to bring accountability. When they were external, they were loose cannons that needed to be brought to heel. When they're forced to standardize under a military, that's bad too.

Not at all. Blackwater was paid to guard some buildings and protect some people. The antics they got up to was because they lacked discipline and got tired of being attacked so they started firing wildly and killing everyone as a response. Blackwater was like a mall security guard who decided to do coke one day and beat up customers.

@darkmath100 You said Blackwater did (not does, they don't exist anymore) what Wagner does. But that's not true. They were just security. And some of the guys were hot headed and decided to disobey and retaliate for an attack on them. It's not the same.
