Krieg the bandit Irrelevant. You can pick any random category to find that other countries surpass the US, doesn't mean they're not doing worse. For example, Greece has a higher average wage than Portugal despite having similar gross domestic product per capita, which ranks them higher than Portugal. Guess who's on the way to recovery and who's on the brink of bankruptcy. And 90% of the countries with higher pay and more vacation time than the US are countries with crazy high tax rates and much higher costs of living.

James Sarvan Would you like to try? Getting shot would totally bankrupt you. You think the government is going to cover 100% your physiotherapy treatment? You'd be in recovery for a long time, which would screw up with your employment. You could even require a long recovery period, if your lungs were sufficiently damaged you can be forced to live with weakened stamina for over a year. How would you not be bankrupted if you couldn't even take a walk around the block?

If a corporation tried to make you pay for services you didn't use, they'd be assholes, but governments pass a law and if you don't pay your taxes, the nice cops will arrest you. All governments force you into a social contract you can't opt out of, give you a number when you are born, just like you were cattle. And they use that number as proof you are collateral so that the government can acquire debt, and you work to pay it off.

What's different about the woods? You can live in peace if you "squat" on public land, but buy yourself a house so it becomes your private property and you aren't allowed the right to be left alone?

James Sarvan No, I didn't. Exposing the facts doesn't mean I support anything. Fact: the Nazi scientists were the first to link smoking to lung cancer. Does that mean I support Nazism? The king/feudal lord also kept the money to repair roads, give people "bread and circus", etc. And today you're still being fooled by the bread and circus (the promises of benefits). Feudal lords would literally own the windmill and charge you to use it. James Sarvan Sorry, but if you never signed a contract and you need to pay taxes, they're being collected without your consent. Usually, things without your consent are criminal activities. If you've accepted the conditions it's fine, but those conditions have applied to you before you were 18 and therefore able to sign a contract.
