@night6724 if drugs were legal then drug dealers wouldn't make any money... Drugs become expensive because of the fact that they need to be smuggled and sold illegally. If you legalize them, they become so cheap that drug dealers would just make more money by getting a job, they wouldn't have the money for guns and ammo to fight in the streets, cartels wouldn't have the money to bribe the police or pay the people working in their plantations... If drugs were legal Escobar might as well have smuggled avocados into the US.

@jamesegsmith my point is, right now the pharmaceutical industry and the medical providers are not only scamming the American people out of their money, but their negligence is also killing people. I think it's pretty shameful that they kill more people than all gangs combined. Secondly, there's so many harmful chemicals that are sold for cheap. One reason heroin is still used in the US was because the pharmaceutical companies would influence doctors to over-prescribe their opioids and your insurance would cover for it. Medical "heroin" was cheap and legal. But then doctors were forced to scale back and now people hooked on opioids had to resort to street drugs because their doctor cut them off from the source of legal drugs. Making heroin cheap and legal wouldn't convince people to do it. Doctors handing opioids out like candy forced them to do it no matter the price.
