Say a foreign interest group wants to finnance a presidential campaign, they donate to a university or something with an agreement that the money will be attributed to a non-profit, then that institution is actually controlled by a politician. Then the politician can use that money to achieve deals, like you front the money to finnance the campaign and then the foundation hires your company for "consulting" purposes so you get paid back, the money gets "laundered" from its foreign origins. Everyone knows exactly what's going on but you can't prove it's foreign money finnancing your campaign unless someone blows the whistle.

I get Russian girls dating websites on YouTube but I don't use dating websites nor search about Russian women. Some websites play me ads for these scantily clad women anime games but I don't consume anime or manga, everyone gets these ads because the developers just paid the website to show people the ads, targeting be damned. When I get targeted ads it actually shows travel, cars, power tools, etc because those are related to my browsing history.

Even though the movie is "about" exploiting kids all the breakdowns I've seen essentially describe as not actually being critical, just exposing the issue, contrasting it to conservative Islamic tradition within the family, and then the girls resuming a normal childhood. So it's "about" exploitation but without even comitting to anything. 2. Despite the movie being "about" exploitation, from what we understand hundreds of children auditioned for the roles. Even if the movie was critical of exploitation, the audition process did exactly what the movie would be criticizing.

"And all 3 have a standing army, navy, airforce" - and a lot of the costs of maintaining them are offset by NATO. We can't even properly train fighter pilots in European airspace, the US has to bring the rest of NATO pilots to places like the Nevada desert where you can fly simulated combat without crashing into airliners.

Maybe if people weren't so obsessed with having the latest phone we would live in a world where a UBI wouldn't even be necessary. Also, if you want to give people a UBI just for their basic needs and nothing more, why instead of a UBI not have a state soup kitchen and rooms? You can live in poverty, but you will always have food and shelter. Want something better? Go find a job. That way you don't need to give people money and risk them misusing it.

If your neighbours report gunshots the police will come check if you're killing someone. That's not a "gun law" its simply enforcement of other laws that involve damage you can cause to others with your actions.

Because of the number of people learning in the armed forces and taking their knowledge to the provate sector rather than getting certifications in the civilian world, the military is within its rights to not award someone their certification. My father was an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force and he had to fight to obtain his certification that allowed him to work on civilian planes after going into the reserves.
