@stevemtc1 "The fact they put themselves in that position may be an issue but not really. If I go to the hood to buy drugs that is against the law. But it doesn’t negate my rights to self defense if I’m attacked" - Because then you're being aggressed upon. If you're instigating the fight you may create a situation where others fear for their lives, but you don't have the same legal excuse. They were not passive actors in this situation, and your analogy makes them look passive.

@familhagaudir8561 "They were called for help by the person who witnessed Arbery comit the burglary, they could legally perform the citizen arrest. " - You do realize that if that were the only legal requirement then you just legalized murder? Anyone can make a call asking for "help", accuse an innocent person, and then you go along and kill that person in "self-defense" when they react to being harassed by armed vigilantes.

@familhagaudir8561 "Pointing it at someone is. Which didn't happen untill Arbrey attacked them." - False. The first shot was fired before the attack.

@familhagaudir8561 "The two guys accused for shooting Arbery in self-defense" - They opened fire first, though. In the 36 second video posted on liveleak you hear the first shot at 20 seconds.

@diomedes7971 "they had more right of being there then Arbery, their home was down the street." - Your home being down the street doesn't give you the right to act extra-judiciously. By the McMichael's own words recorded on the police report, they weren't in hot pursuit of a crime they had witnessed, Greg just saw a man he had reached for his waistband once. "He ran over a hundred feet to their park vehicle" - And you think they were parked there for a picnic? The police report itself reveals that they were on the chase with the two trucks and attempted to box Arbery in multiple times. Arbery didn't run to a parked truck. He pushed through an ambush he had attempted to shake off already. "Arbery wasn't ambushed by these guys" - The police report spells out that they were using the vehicles to box him in. "Arbery was a grown man and is fully responsible for his actions" - And so are the McMichaels. Now they're facing the consequences for trying to play cop. Which could have killed an innocent man rather than the actual trespasser. "No weapon was pointed at him" - A shot was fired at him before the confrontation became physical. "he was a safe distance away" - And the armed men denied this distance by chasing him. Read the police report where the police flat out recognized that Arbery did what you required of him but the armed men did not let go. "That if they were out for his blood would have dropped him dozens of feet before he reached them" - This is completely ignorant. If armed men are chasing you, do you second guess their intentions? What reason do you have to believe they won't kill you later? "Senior was also on the phone with police when Arbery initiated his assault." - What does this even mean? If you get attacked by a group of people do you assume that they're on the phone with cops or calling more of their boys for the fight? Calling the police does not give any legitimacy to the confrontation.

@diomedes7971 "because a intelligent person runs 100+ feet in open ground to rush a gun holder" - He was moving forward, then you see him notice that he is going to be fired upon, he starts zig-zagging to dodge the incoming gunshot, takes cover behind the vehicle, you hear a shot ring out, then you see that the driver left the vehicle and Arbery is running across the hood of the car to meet him. He had already been chased and attempted to leave like you required of him. His last resort was pushing through the ambush (as evidenced by the first shot, it was the option that bought him a few extra seconds of life). It doesn't matter what is smart or isn't. It was the option available at the time after exhausting the other ones. "as in running directly at two men open carrying" - Read the police report. They had been chasing Arbery and attempting to curt him off. The McMichaels used the vehicle's superior speed versus human locomotion to get ahead and corner Arbery. You can describe it any way you want, but even if you use superior speed to get ahead of your prey and create a barrier, that's still a chase. "He wasn't cornered, the McMichael's were not actively pursuing at that moment." - They were just actively running a two vehicle intercept. "while refusing to communicate what so ever with them" - He didn't have to communicate. "Then proceeded to felony assault a armed person." - Which is self-defense.
