@guitarexpert2245 He's explaining how business should work? No business is entitled to a profit, they have to WORK to get your money. The whole point of specialization is that it's more effective for me to pay others to do stuff I don't want to do or can't do, while I focus on what I do best. If businesses aren't benefitting me, I don't pay them.

@liam3284 Antitrust hasn't solved anything. We are still fleeced with ticket prices. But many countries here in the EU have low wages so people in the US think our tickets are really cheap. But they aren't. And countries with high wages in Europe have high living costs.

@honestfriend767 it won't, really - trying to play harball is difficult when you're gambling with the health of the population. The government has an expectation of having to purchase the drugs. The pharma company only needs to remain solvent.

@khazaddum6570 Manufacturing cost doesn't cover the actual overhead. It's like saying a restaurant only pays for ingredients, ignoring licenses, elecricity and water bills, wages, etc.

@ludouniversalis This is overstated. Ticket prices are also through the roof over here. Don't forget that most of Europe has low wages. Only the wealthier countries in the EU get wages above the US and cost of living isn't cheap there.

Late stage? We're just getting started.

@Kian139 Price regulation is terrible. Rent control is a prime example of how the housing market went down the drain by trying to improve it.

@liljepolak8565 So it's not free if you're still paying, dawg

Just dropping by to say that you can't outrun a bad diet. Exercise is vital for health and weight loss but the energy expenditure in the treadmill is easily undone by a cheat meal.

@molusco1059 They don't have to come to terms. They can just refuse to sell. Portugal tried to play hardball over a Hep C therapy. The manufacturer walked off. People protested. The government was forced to crawl back. Pay up. 90k per person.

@TomisaLami The reason corn (source of sugar) is subsidized in the US is that otherwise global agriculrure would collapse. American exports would cause several countries to stop farming as their agricultural sector would become unprofitable.
