The hedge funds made a play that put them on the hook for returning the stocks they owed, a redditor noticed it, and decided to take the stocks they'd need in the future. That's not manipulating. It was the hedge fund's fault for getting outsmarted.

A lot of the people are not in here for the money. People invested 200 bucks, I saw people say they put up 2000 bucks, and they don't care if they lose. It's not about the money.
