When Polish hero Witold Pilecki let himself be captured, sent to a camp and then escaped to report what was happening, the British and Americans actually decided to downplay the existence of the camps - because they were afraid public opinion would turn against the war if people thought the war was about liberating camps.

@BHarris25 we defeated Nazi Germany thanks to the racists who created the internment camps and the war criminals who incinerated civilians. Not the good people who actually fought. But I'm glad that me pointing out the fucked up reality of the world got derailed.

There's a definite case of a war crime being committed when a US soldier guarding the Salina, Utah POW camp manned a machine gun and let it rip on POWs while they were sleeping so your claim that there wasn't a single war criminal in the US is demonstrably false. 2. "We had to firebomb Germany to win- their industry was so strong" - that's absolutely ridiculous because the Third Reich fought until the end and the massacre of civilians did nothing to accelerate the end of the war. 3. "There was no choice but to bomb the shit out of em" - there was a choice, which is why the decision to target civilians was made. That decision ended up not mattering and only increased civilian casualties with no purpose as the war didn't end sooner as a result. 4. "but it wasn't a war crime" - protip: it's a war crime even when you think it's justified. 5. You can't make the fucking claim that NV wasn't bombed enough when literally anyone who ever glanced at Vietnam war history knows about the extended aerial bombardment campaign dubbed Operation Rolling Thunder.
