Comments by "Titanium Rain" (@ChucksSEADnDEAD) on "Why China Sucks at Soft Power — China's Reckoning (Part 4)" video.
It's a 4 part series. The ending only makes sense in context because it is the conclusion.

@TheTudor111 only 6% of those actually died from the virus according to the CDC

False. China used to have a much more positive/neutral stance towards the West.

Fanatical nationalism? Half of Americans hate America and the othet half hates the government.

@liveinsea1 The US didn't claim it was terrorism. The Democratic party did.
1
@liveinsea1 There's a difference between "welcoming" a break in and trying to use domestic terrorism to suppress political dissent. "Can you imagine that the protestors fly a Chinese or Russian flag in the capital Hill and would US government be ok with that?" - I've seen an ISIS flag made of buttplugs instead of Arab script in a pride parade and Spongebob memes at gun control rallies. Nobody cares.

@liveinsea1 You're missing an important piece of the puzzle which is the fact that the Chinese government started to make concessions on trade. So Trump had a reason to praise Xi. But of course, their government never actually intended to come to a mutual agreement with the US, they were just stalling in a time of emergency and then backtracked as soon as they were in the clear. "Biden banned using Chinese virus" - lol "He talks about China in his speech all the time" - He can barely speak. "How can he keep telling the American people China is a threat and at the same time expect to lower the Asian hate crime?" - Why would anyone be stupid enough to attack people over here because of what a government is doing over there? Why would people be so stupid they attack anyone who is Asian even if they're not ethnically Chinese? You think these people can be reasoned with?

@liveinsea1 I'm not sure I get the timeline here. There was a serious consideration regarding genetic factors having an effect on mortality rates. When it became obvious there was something going on in China, we were told we were racists for caring about it. They said it was just the flu. Trump suggested shutting down the borders and was called a racist over it. I'm sure you remember that when Hubei province was put under lockdown, they allowed flights out. Now, the spread had left China months before that, but it is clear that their government decided that if they were going to suffer, the whole world was going to suffer with them. They did that on purpose.
1
@liveinsea1 That's how respiratory viral infections work. I'm not saying it should have been contained. It's that they didn't even try - in fact, they made it look like they were trying to infect the world by allowing flights out of Hubei province while they locked it down from the rest of China. You say it doesn't matter. Okay. But they sealed off Hubei from the rest of the country. Even if it didn't matter, it sure seemed they were afraid and trying to contain it. If they allow people to leave to foreign countries, while being afraid and trying to contain it inside their own country, what's the explanation for this? Even if it didn't matter. If they thought that it could be contained and purposefully allowed people to leave to foreign countries, it means they were trying to do the opposite of containing. Which is spreading.
1
@liveinsea1 You're just making stuff up. The public opinion against China started turning around years ago. I don't see what your timeline is meant to imply. You're just feeding propaganda. Most countries also converted spaces and built tent sites to deal with patients. Doctors were moved across Europe and America to places of need. Why are you giving me those numbers? To brag?
1
@liveinsea1 If I don't have to believe, why bother saying it? I already knew that side of the story. The US market was obviously expecting the federal reserve to turn the printers on. What conclusion? Some people said some things? The elephant in the room is that the ruling class benefitted immensely from the lockdowns. And I actually believe they did their best to not let this crisis go to waste. So the concept that somehow it's a coincidence that they downplayed the virus and then made massive gains in terms of government power and restructuring the economy is completely ridiculous.
1
@liveinsea1 They put the same measures in place at the same time the Chinese government did. In fact, they did it early because China was aware of the virus in 2019 but suppressed the information.
1
@liveinsea1 You're just deflecting and pointing fingers. What do you want? Welding people into their own homes? Always remember that when you point one finger ten point back at you. Do you think covid is a big issue? I don't. But if you think it's a big issue, then the CPC should face consequences for suppressing the doctors calling out the signs there was a new bug on the loose and then allowing flights to leave a locked down area. You better think like me and say covid isn't a big issue. Because if you think it is, you have to agree there should be hell to pay for what the CPC did to the world. If you don't, you're a coward. So you better agree with me and say covid isn't a big deal.

@RunawayYe To be fair, it's not about raising prices - it's about letting prices go back to normal. By subsidizing water you promote waste of water that others need. It's not different from food. If you have a banana shortage due to actual issues with the agriculture such as drought or destructive storms, you'll most likely have an apple and orange shortage too. The point is, you don't want the markets near the farms to have cheap fruit while the places that can't farm as much food get nothing. Food is transported differently so the analogy is hard to apply, but if everyone is aware that water consumption has a cost, they will use less instead of wasting it locally and not letting it flow into the places suffering from lack of water.
1
@RunawayYe This is the humane point of view. The state is trying to go against reality and forcing people into a worse situation.

Typical whataboutism.

There's no such thing as a closed system in the universe. Just the other day I saw footage of a prison thug who took a guard hostage. The system was forced open. His brain ended up plastered in a pillar behind him. Bullies are tough around victims but are the quickest to fold when met with overwhelming force.

@m. a. They're not going to free anyone.
1
@m. a. You're the one coping my dude, hoping to be freed by China.
1
@m. a. I won't because I'll remain free until the day I die. You'll surrender to the first tyrant that comes your way.
1
@m. a. You're the one virtue signaling! Begging for Daddy Xi to bring you freedom. I'm not a good person and I'll admit it. You pretend to be one to simp for tyrants. That's virtue signaling. Bye felicia.

This is completely false. China was a more moderate and open country in 2008, with many outsiders seeing it as a land of opportunity.

How is it xenophobia to point out political issues?
1
@RichardCurrie This preceeds Trump.

But now we have learned that the Wuhan lab was doing gain of function research (which the Americans were performing but had to stop because the Obama administration banned it) and the same lab had been criticized for lack of safety before.

Why would Mao be entitled to an ally?
1
@nl7270 Impressive, almost everything you've posted is incorrect. First of all, Mao would have backstabbed the US, nothing personal that's just business, the US did reach out to Russia but there's a whole can on worms there regarding internal issues, Russia's at the EUs doorstep? Are you kidding? Their conscripts are too busy being used as free labor or being forced into prostitution to fight a war. They have 12 Su-57 aircraft while US and allies have 625 F-35s. Is this a joke? Mao doesn't deserve an ally in the same way that you can't demand people to be your friends or spouses. People are free to do what they want and you don't deserve others to just give you what you want. Uniting China, how is that important for the topic? He is revered because of state propaganda, not for any good reason. And like you said, his killing of millions is enough to deny him an alliance.
1
@nl7270 If China isn't threatened, why are they both investing in trade routes that avoid the sea and on anti-ship weapons? Seems to me they feel the threat of US naval power. How is US Japan? Where is the Pearl Harbor attack?
