@ayushman1590 now try that again but with proper English

Mind that a lot of the "oldschool" tankies are very illiberal. I wouldn't call them socially conservative, but they do call a lot of stuff like LGBT a "bourgeois distraction". Also, Russia talks out of the both sides of their mouth. They like to court the right wing in the West but their message is different in other places. Russia Today ran pro-trans stories in Latin America while doing the opposite in the English version.
19
Because Russia can equip these small expeditionary forces. They also serve as propaganda that tells their own people they have a modern army. When the initial invasion of Ukraine went sideways they all to call a ton of reservists and troops from non-combat units and the equipment wasn't all high speed.
10
5000 confirmed armored losses, Podolsky. Why aren't you signing up for tanker duty? I heard they have shortages.
6
@vistakay Based on what?
5
Why? We signed an agreement that we'd offer them security guarantees in exchange for their nukes.
5
@YorkerEli "murikkkan" really showing the bias there, Vlad
5
Kherson is the city and the oblast. Ukrainian troops are inside the district but not in the city. They're not going to assault the city head on.
5
@BLMVDV Wrong. Igor Girkin, FSB agent and a Russian national, started taking over Ukrainian government buildings before any hostilities had started.
4
@bigbake132 Because Ukrainian people are fluent in the languages spoken there. And because they're Ukrainian, there's an expectation that they'll fight for Ukraine. If you show up there, waste their time by getting trained, then run to the border the first time you hear a shell whistling past you, might as well not bother.
4
CivDiv: "they were having their vehicle repaired" Some dude in the comments: "MoSt oF tHe UkRaInIaN aRmY iS rEcOn In FoRcE"

Meanwhile, Russia actually fired Grads from behind supermarkets in Donetsk to bait counter-artillery into civilian areas 2014-2021. Russia's overwhelming artillery superiority, which is dependent on filming videos to beg the MoD for shells.
4
@KVarghese49 That's a lie and you know it.
4
@jruedew NLAWs are smart weapons though, they exist precisely to avoid requiring suppression. You don't need to suppress what is dead.
4
The problem is the indiscriminate use of cluster munitions. There's just no way to pick targets, you're gonna splash people you didn't intend to hit and then the duds remain for years to come.
3
They weren't taking protection, can't you read?
3
When the 2014 invasion kicked off there were far right extremists from Europe joining Ukraine and far left extremists joining the separatists. Who fought side by side with Sparta Battalion, a far right unit of the separatists, and on the same side as Wagner, Rusich, etc which have Neo-Nazi ties. The Kurd units a foreigner could join always were nominally socialist.
3
@vasilijevukadinovic6843 Social circles are around 100-150 people. "Everyone knows someone" doesn't mean 1 out of 2 people died, it means that the war affects everyone.
3
@Elzimbabwe. Name the units.
3
@sportsfangofootball CivDiv fought in wars with the US military and then as a volunteer in Kurdistan. So he has the resume to back it up.
3
@kaysekaze the US objected to humanitarian lines AND ceasefire. The point of the ceasefire would be for Hamas to catch a breather and be "saved by the bell". The US's stance is that they'll support humanitarian lines as long as Israel gets to rip the bandaid and end this BS instead of letting it drag for another seven decades.
3
Now try that again but in English
3
Wagner has found itself with severe manpower shortage.
3
As stated there's multiple rocket variants so he may have been trained on a different one.
3
Did you get your draft papers, boy?
3
Space Force

They did exist, but not like the movie Enemy at the Gates. They didn't shoot soldiers after failed assaults. They detained those who fled defensive positions after being ordered to hold the strategic point, and forced them to serve under penal battalions as punishment. Yes people were executed by blocking troops but not entire companies mowed down by machine gun.
2
@rassenkrieg9615 Or just tired of blowing money on replacements.
2
@TheJadedWolfLad I know people who have prior mil service and combat deployments. The Ukrainian embassy will not respond. Take that as you will.
2
@bigbake132 Which is why Western volunteers aren't in high demand and Ukraine turns away most of them...
2
Look at Bucha. How many lives were "saved" by giving Russians control of a small town? Imagine how many dead if large cities are taken over. Ukraine is taking land, not losing.
2
@artyparty_av Support roles have a target on their backs too. Support is the foundation, without support the frontline guys can't fight.
2
Cope and seethe.
2
Take your meds.
2
@NotMustacheMan It's literally not. If I give you my old furniture that doesn't mean I spent X dollars upgrading your home. I just gave away old stuff.
2
What a non-statement. You know governments can do more than one thing at a time?
2
@Borat480 Russia recruited from prisons and created specific penal units, Ukrained allowed early release of some prisoners who had combat experience. The prison population in Russia decreased significantly as a result.
2
@Bluis5445 The people saying that aren't in the frontlines either. Did you pay attention to the video? It's about those living regular lives away from the danger zone.
2
@BennyBsolo No, they didn't.
2
So Ukraine is losing ground or retreats rarely, which is it? Pick a narrative, Ivan.
2
This is so full of mistakes it's actually incredible, even the Maidan year is wrong
2
@Learn-more610 Ukraine isn't in NATO and many of their officers were only trained in Soviet doctrine.
2
It proves nothing. Just like the South Ossetia battalion that got wiped out the other day by Ukrainians doesn't mean Ukraine is fighting Georgia. People from all over the world join fights. It happens.
2
I think the assumption is that gunshots and explosions would be chaotic and the shouting would be necessary to even talk to people next to you.
2
@spudlord8841 The Ukrainian government does evacuate civilians. The problem is that there's holdouts, and the government using force often leads nowhere. There's also delusional civilians who do want to join Russia, and then get killed by Russian shells. Can't help them. However, many people have nowhere else to go. All your belongings and memories are in one place, and you can maybe take a suitcase with you. You have conviction in your opinion, but it was made in a vacuum. In the real world, things aren't that black and white. Desperate times are precisely when you respect the rules. If the rules can be thrown out at any sign of trouble, then the rules do no exist. Your freedoms and your rights exist precisely for when they're about to be violated, not when you're just having a normal day.
2
Right, they should live in the woods and repair their vehicles in the open plains.
2
@TakaTakaaaaaaaaaaaaa It's literally their MO. Making cities unlivable makes it easier for them. They also attacked civilian infrastructure in Syria and claimed to be terrorist facilities. The point is to break a siege by terrorizing the population. Why have they attacked Kiev, which is not at the frontlines? Why did they try to freeze Ukrainians? To them it makes sense. Their accuracy, targeting and intelligence isn't good enough to go after the military so they go after the civilian populace because its largely fixed.
2
Some are normal arrests. The Russian shills like to pretend that uniformed men pick you out from the crowd and just take you. Usually you'd receive a summons and if you refuse to go that's like missing a court date, the police will detain you if they find you. If Russia the mobilization is done by knocking on the door and handing the summons by hand, if someone else opens the door you're technically not evading them.
2
A lot of people seem to think a city takes a day to capture. They're not even in the city yet. They're trying to cut off areas and degrade the fighting power to trap the Russians against the river with no way to ressuply. Assaulting the city directly is suicide. They want the Russians out of fuel and ammo.
2
@Spetsnaz-kw3d Are those volunteers with high morale the ones caught in the Avdiivka footage? Because that morale doesn't seem to help them.
