@hippoace How much of those old tanks are usable? Most are rust buckets.

ISIS in Afghanistan. Right....

The Minsk accords were violated by DPR forces the day after they were signed. Stop carrying water for the liars and backstabbers running that criminal state.
1
Ah yes, the "evidence" composed of M16s, FALs and missiles already found in Syria that were sold to Syria. Nothing like selling weapons to a country that was already a dumping ground to Western weapons when we backed the "moderate rebels". What is supply and demand?
1
@harrisonhonda3745 No NLAW or Starstreak was seen in Syria. They don't show numbers, they show purposefully fuzzy phone footage.

lol

You've been saying the "get rid of the old stuff before the new" line since the start of this catastrophe, and the new stuff is still nowhere to be seen. If anything, they're scrapping the bottom of the barrel. The new stuff? It either doesn't exist or it's too valuable to put in combat.

You're welcome to bring out the Russian sources.
1
@jomellon Oh, nice moving of goalposts. Turns out you weren't actually worried about the sources, now it's "reality".
1
According to you Ukraine essentially suffered 80% casualty rate in Lisichansk. Why would Ukrainians wear white arm bands? To stop Russian troops from shooting them. Didn't work.
1
No, they aren't, lol. Check out actual Russians providing the insights, their country is being thrown into unemployment and poverty.

@patriciusvunkempen102 You're allowed to have calculators in most maths subjects in schools because they do not solve the problem for you. In college the only math classes that didn't allow calculators in exams were Calculus II and III because it's more about proofs and the calculations are simple, they just don't want you to bring solved exercises. Give a random 40 year old officer a calculator and tell him to guide artillery. The ability to calculate large numbers fast does not compensate for maths knowledge.
1
@MatoVuc It's not hard. It's impossible when you don't know what to do. So you always need people who know what to do to be around, you can't give that job to a random nobody who never trained in it.
1
How well maintained is the mothballed equipment? Artillery is still artillery, but there's photos of D30 guns with the breech cracked. No offense, but Ukraine is getting steel on steel first hits on a regular basis. You can say "I couldn't do that, we used it as an area weapon" well but area weapons do not suffice. They need to hit the Russian artillery close enough or else it can be recovered and repaired.
1
They don't have to be thrown out, the expenses to stay just have to become too great to sustain. Russia cannot reach the positions they want and dig in. They need to capture more to gain defensive positions, and then capture more to get a buffer zone they can "give up" and maintain a demilitarized zone between them.
1
lol learning the truth from Oliver Stone, friend of Putin and Hugo Chavez.
1
"b-b-but Ukraine" yeah, Ukraine is at home. If both sides have the same problems, Ukraine doesn't have to go anywhere.
1
That's because we don't have footage of the opposite side. Maybe we should get footage of Russian artillerymen after counter-battery hits them, but nobody's filming it. I bet it's a thousand times more distressing.
1
@markojuric979 It's not wishful thinking. We have the footage of them dying and getting wounded from the sky, which looks funny. We don't have footage from the ground, which is probably very ugly.
1
Vatnik delusion.

Russia has air superiority, but cannot conduct proper air power operations. Where's the close air support? Flying close to the ground, pointing the nose up, firing rockets in a lofting trajectory and then turning back and heading home.

Talking about infrastructure is like Americans talking about "body count" in Vietnam.
