@Diogenerate When they started out they were a small group of tech enthusiasts, you were paying extra for the logo but they weren't in the business of mass producing pre-built desktops and trying to pass them off as custom work. Their cases were essentially the same as Lian Li ones, probably made in the same factory and then slightly modified to have the Alienware branding. Then with the Dell purchase they started to get their own chassis made, their own motherboards and if I remember correctly mystery brand power supply units but there was still some innovation with their own lighting system and wacky liquid cooling. Now it's just Dell on the insides with custom work pricetag. EDIT - I said Lian Li but someone else mentioned Chieftec and I think I made a mistake, it was probably those.
