@tajjej3649 It's easier to repair a structure than to reverse engineer an electronic part.

@tajjej3649 So the answer is firing off thousands of cruise missiles at every abandoned airframe? That would mean spending even MORE money. What's the point of calling quits on a war if you're going to threaten even more strikes?

@tajjej3649 Taking out a structure often involves using gravity against it by weakening the support, or penetrating hardened structures and letting blast overpressure enhance the warhead effects. A cruise missile versus parked vehicles would obliterate the ones near the blast, but flip over and ding the ones at the edges, and leave disabled vehicles good enough so serve as parts donors in the middle. There's a photo of a MiG-23 that flew over Syria during the conflict that was assembled from three donor aircraft so it's not unthinkable that someone would try to frankenstein aircraft. At some point it would make more sense to drop napalm because at least the temperatures would eventually degrade electronic boards, solder, insulating materials, etc. It's easier to weld holes in metal than reengineer the circuitry.
