By that logic a jet airliner's turbines could be driven by the compressed air alone, with minimal burning of fuel just to compensate for friction losses. Or a thermoelectric powerplant could skip the gas/coal burning and have the turbine run on water pressurized by the pump, rather than steam. On a "T,s" graph the more "area" under the transformations the more work it produces. An adiabatic expansion of compressed air at near outside temperature would produce almost no work at the turbine. The objective is that the turbine outputs more work than you input at the compressing stage, that's why you need hot exhaust gas. Basically, the compressor stage and turbine stage would cancel each other, which means it would be better to have a naturally aspirated engine in the first place.
