  1. +Pingman When you pinch the end of a garden hose the water shoots out faster, right? But where does the pressure build up, in the water stream that comes out or inside the hose? Inside the hose, because a restriction will build up pressure "upstream", not "downstream". Think about those days there's an accident on the road and they close a few lanes. Before the accident there's traffic, and after the accident there's not.
