The goals are completely different so you can't use 1939 as a comparison. In addition, Germany's annexations allowed them to deflate the economic bubble caused by their social programs and militarization. Meanwhile Russia's military modernization was cut short due to decreasing oil prices in the 2010s, and this conflict has ripped a gash in their soft underbelly. They'll need to heal before they can even think about invading any country again.

@Acid31337 Again, this is fearmongering. How is it easy to conquer European countries, when Ukraine alone already severely damaged Russian's combat capable units? The VDV was severely bloodied, the 4th Guards Tank Division is losing T-80s, four generals killed along with a couple of colonels, multiple Spetsnaz confirmed dead by the Ukrainians recovering 2018-issued AS VAL rifles from the corpses... This is a complete mess. The alleged 200 thousand troops deployed aren't enough to occupy Ukraine. Plus, the next few countries in line are LITERALLY NATO MEMBERS and the existence of NATO is precisely to trigger a multinational defense of the nation under attack. Forget about "risk" of WW3, if you attack NATO members you declare WW3.
