@MichelleHell If the left is anti-imperialist, I can't wait to see the pedals they're going to ask people to use to power the factories because they can't access the resources required for green energy.

@drkastenbrot "putting solar panels in the desert destroys what exactly?" - If you're going to cover an untouched area with man-made machines, you're by definition destroying the environment there. That's why constructions like dams, airports, wind turbines, solar farms, etc have to have environmental impact studies done before the project starts, to make sure that you're not going to cause more damage. At least you could use the same efforts to plant trees that stop desertification.

@ilovefunnyamv2nd "most dont want one within a thousand miles of where they live" - Imagine if nobody wanted to live within a thousand miles of a truck or SUV, which is much more likely to kill them than nuclear. Imagine if nobody wanted to live within a thousand miles of a coal plant, which also has to scrub its emissions due to the fact that it spits radioactive particles into the air. People have the right to be stupid and not be able to do risk analysis. But they're still stupid.

@MichelleHell I didn't mention congress once. If I address a comment to "the left", rest assured that I'm not talking about congress. I also find it extremely funny that you assume what I know and don't know, and also that you assume where I'm from. I'm European. Our center-left parties are right wing too. Our left parties are pretty much by definition centrists, because they only serve as opposition and they're not calling for the abolition of the neoliberal capitalist system, just more welfare. Do not lecture me when your assumptions betray your ignorance.
