@eclipsez0r there's different kinds of "materials". Uranium with a half life of what, 700 million years? Thorium, more than a billion? Even plutonium cores were handled by hand. Now if you get exposed to short half-life elements they'll beam you at a much higher rate.

Because of anti proliferation agreements, pressure from environmentalist groups and cost.

@NguyenHongAnh152 the thing is, from what I understand getting from 0.7% U-235 to 20% is 3/4 of the work. So if you buy 20% from another nation in theory to make it 90% would require smaller facilities which could be easily hidden.

@taylorcarlson9650 in the aviation field there's Pierre Sprey, who in interviews is constantly credited as the designer of the A-10 and the F-16 when he was only a DoD analyst. He never bothers to correct anyone about it, though.

Depleted uranium is more toxic due to being a heavy metal than radioactivity. On impact the DU turns into dust and it becones easily absorbed by humans in the area.

@Ottuln https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQSs2kN2GpQ credited for the F-15 and F-16 (even though he hated the F-15 lmao) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nE7NDEYB5yU "helped" the design of the A-10 and F-16 (helping is an extreme reach) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cP0f1_f8nuc "creator of the old F-16" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1Z_DuF CBC's The Fifth Estate wrote on the description: "Our 2012 interview with Pierre Sprey a defence analyst who spent 20 years working at the Pentagon and helped designed one of the most successful jetfighters ever, the A10 Warthog." https://gizmodo.com/the-designer-of-the-f-16-explains-why-the-f-35-is-such-1591828468 "According to the Pierre Sprey, co-designer of the F-16..." https://foxtrotalpha.jalopnik.com/pierre-spreys-anti-f-35-diatribe-is-half-brilliant-and-1592445665 "A video is making its way around the net right now that featuring an interview with F-16 co-designer and king of the 1970's era "Fighter Mafia," Pierre Sprey." I think the lie was spread by Sputnik News and Russia Today and then it kept being repeated by aviation fans on the internet and secondary sources repeating the story without fact-checking.
