The corrupt pseudo state known as Russia?

Canard design comes at a cost and different heights was already used by conventional wings and stabilizers. I know Gripen fanboys have a right to exist but please stop making up fantasies.

Months to a year. Material has to be ordered, workers have to be hired and trained, equipment produced elsewhere like radars, screens, etc would have to be purchased.

@infernoking7504 Russia is doing that.
3
@kirgan1000 if they're producing Gripen Es they'd need to expand production capacity to make spares for the old Cs.

Firehose of falsehood.

F-15s and F-16s already flew against Russian systems.

How the hell is a low production fighter, especially a legacy variant that's discontinued, going to be upgraded?
2
It's not escalation. It achieved exactly the effect desired. Javelins and NLAWs demolished the tank onslaught, and turned many IFV/APC occupants into crispy bacon. M777s allowed the shipment of 155mm shells. Patriots are engaging ballistic missiles. Funny how you skipped the HIMARS, which broke the back of the Russian army. 12 trucks with a rocket pod on the back (and a handful of tracked vehicles) stalled the mighty bear by hitting where it hurt.

"colderwar" is an absolutely ironic screen name.

Armenia seized land from Azerbaijan in the 90s also they're protected by Russia (lol). Syria was protected - not Assad. Libya was protrcted - not Gaddafi. Georgia was invaded on the last months of Bush Jr's term and also coinciding with the increased tempo of the Iraq Surge of 2007. Russia hit Georgia when they knew the response would not be feasible.

Meanwhile Russia is selling out its daughters to China.

@ivanivkovic573 All of them. As it turns out, the US fights a lot of countries that buy Russian garbage.

@johanlassen6448 But the F-16 has thousands produced. There's always a country with some old models that could get a contract for a refurbish and upgrade. The scenario here is more akin to the Hornet vs Legacy Hornet. You want to keep a "Legacy" Gripen C/D supported when Saab wants to move on to the Gripen E/F. In a world where Boeing wants to sell Block 3 Super Hornets, and sell upgrades for Super Hornets, you can't really come up to them and say "hey guys now develop an upgrade package for my Legacy Hornets". The Saab Gripen is low production. I see the problem now, you think I am talking about the F-16.

@johanlassen6448 Yeah for whatever reason YT never @s the OP when replying to a thread. It's been this way for years.

Airbases get repaired.

So Russia is losing to a country with no military equipment?
1
@MatoVuc Afghanistan was self-defense due to 9/11 and Iraq had violated the 1991 peace terms but Clinton didn't want to prosecute during his term.

@MatoVuc Defend themselves from what?

Why would Putin obey Trump?

A MiG-31 just crashed a couple of days ago. A few weeks ago another one crashed in Murmansk. They lack pilots. The airframes are worn.

A S-400 command vehicle was destroyed by GMLRS.
