There's Nammo in Norway, Fiocchi in Italy, MEN in Germany, Prvi Partizan in Serbia, maybe a few more I can't recall. Ukraine used to have one of the largest 7.62x39 factories but it was destroyed in the 2014-2015 conflict, Poroshenko announced plans to rebuild a new one but haven't heard any more after he lost the election in 2019.

The F-35 is more like a F-16. The F-4 was a naval interceptor, the F-15 an air superiority fighter. The Starfighter debacle was due to German weather, maintenance by conscripts who got out of service before being experienced, and the attempt to use a high speed fighter as a low level tactical aircraft before technology allowed such hijinks.

You're looking at Ukraine and your conclusion is that cheap garbage works? Many have tried the quantity over quality and got curbstomped. Maintenance is possible during war. Both Russia and Ukraine are doing it. The Sherman in WW2 was specifically designed so that once it crossed the Atlantic, it would never have to come back to the US for repairs. The F-15 has over 100 air to air kills with no losses. The F-15 is easier to find and kill than a F-35. You really think the random guy is an event you want to bet on? 200 planes instead of 20. Do you have ten times the pilots and ten times the fuel? Ten times the spare parts?
