Not comparable. The Javelin is like 100k-200k and a person can be trained in a week to use it. A Ka-52 is tens of millions of USD equivalent and the pilots require years of training. Not to mention that Javs can be manufactured in the thousands, while the Ka-52 fleet is only a little over a hundred and a third has been sidelined already.

@omaral-maitah181 Yeah and the Russian tanks send the turrets into the stratosphere. When we have videos of tank commanders falling on rooftops and creating a hole like a cartoon, or pictures of Russian soldiers crushed by a falling turret... the Leos are just better. And Russia is losing armor to the cheapest drone ever, a 300-400 dollar racing drone strapped to a free RPG-7 warhead. Much cheaper than a Lancet. So what? They also lost tanks to cheap grenades dropped on abandoned tanks to prevent recovery and repair. You don't get to flex on cheapness.

Russian offensives were massacred to a greater degree, for no gains (like Vuhledar) without facing helicopters.
4
The US could unironically send more armor than Russia has laser guided missiles.

The A-10 has to climb, level wings, release and then dive down back to cover. Something like an Apache with the Longbow radar on a mast can detect and target armor without exposing itself, even lob missiles from behind hills or buildings and so lock-on after launch. The A-10 has to expose itself except in loft releases (unguided rockets or JDAM with coordinates provided by ground observers).

@omaral-maitah181 I didn't say you said the Russian tanks were better. The point is that people were right to laugh about Russian tanks. You don't get to turn around and say busted tanks are the equivalent of the fiery inferno that Russian tank crews were subjected to.
2
@ReichLife Not only did they lose vehicles but also men. The 155th had to be reformed several times with mobilized Russian men. That's a massacre.
2
@ГеоргийМурзич Russian pilots have a much weaker SEAD doctrine. Do we have consistent ARM wreckage in Ukrainian terrain like AGM-88 HARM inside Russian-controlled terrain?
2
@joshmeijer4140 Can we see them?

That's why IRIS-T, NASAMS, Patriot were sent and the Sea Sparrow mod for the Buk is being developed. Also, Merkel lied to save face. Both the assault on Debaltseve and the second battle of Donetsk airport clearly showed Russia used Minsk to attack when Ukraine had the pants down. Merkel trying to pretend the plan was always to delay the fight to rearm Ukraine is her trying to clear her name when everyone knew Russia never stopped the fighting.

@loganknezovich8394 Russia has been losing almost 30 artillery pieces per day during the offensive...
1
@peetasmith4403 I also heard the collapse of Ukrainian resistance would happen last year. You people are a doomsday cult constantly changing the date.
1
Actually they're very different. Russia had soldiers lost asking for directions and food to Ukrainian locals because the war started without proper warning.

But the ATGM has greater range than most MANPADS. You mean some kind of SHORAD vehicle.
1
@ГеоргийМурзич It's not that they're ineffective. Range limits are a problem with "MAN Portable" missiles. We've seen helicopters supposedly protected by DIRCM go down from MANPADS. The problem is you have to shoot them up close.
1
@monarchtherapsidsinostran9125 Yes the Vikhr has 10-12km range.
1
@kilianklaiber6367 But that's not true. The A-10 flies low and slow at very low speed relative to other jets. The helicopter has the advantage of maneuverability so at least it can use terrain masking. The A-10 can terrain mask during ingress and egress, but during an attack run it has to expose itself.
