Not really, there's so many stuff running on dogshit coding. Yeah, you want top ranked experts dealing with banks or whatever to make their systens efficient and uncrackable. But if you just have to change the program on a controller board on an automated machine in a factory you don't need to be a genius.

A meme is a shared experience/information that exists in a culture/subculture. If you try to coordinate a meme it's a "forced meme" and typically it's garbage. "Second, If they just wanted to make a point they could have said literally anything else. They chose to engage with that meme." - So? It was clearly effective. Realistically you have one chance to garner someone's attention because they can easily ignore or even block you. Are you gonna post a multi tweet essay they're probably not even going to read - and even if they did, they'd be too stubborn to change their mind - or just deliver the one-hit KO? It's bullshit that people got suspended/banned. But I'd rather get banned by driving the nail home with one swing than waste my time longposting at people who won't care.

@NuEnque you can't code your own bank. I mean, a team of people could, but not legally. Starting your own bank is a massive endeavour. What I said was 100% true. When people started leaving Patreon due to their Sargon of Applebee's ban the alternatives were hit by payment processors dropping support. When Gab, Twitter alternative, was being pressured to ban a user for hate speech, Microsoft threatened with kicking them off their server. If you try to compete, you can be kicked off by your own host or simply prevented from being allowed to purchase hosting. I'm not saying what's gonna happen in theory. I'm stating facts about things that happened last year.

The problem is that you cannot create competition. Gab is a twitter competitor and they were threatened with getting kicked out of their servers if they did not ban a person. Credit card companies can also sever ties, crippling businesses that do not obey the narrative. I think AT&T should have the right to deny you a phone line. But they shouldn't have the right to deny you an alternative.

@FloKorp86 that's like saying if I kill a person I don't have to go to jail because I didn't kill as many as Ted Bundy. It doesn't matter what the exposure or reach is. You could have one follower and if you break the rules, you will get banned. Fly under the radar? You think that a bunch of right wing people didn't click the report button? We enjoyed freedom and now the same forces that corrupted msm are corrupting the internet. To you it's a whining session about twitter. In reality it's us witnessing the internet becoming like tv, while some people like you assure us there's no need to worry. Maybe you just clicked on a Joe Rogan video because you were bored so maybe you won't care, but what happens when Joe Rogan gets deplatformed for saying the wrong thing? Are you gonna whine? "All of these industries and companies from the start curate the content that they show." - there's a big difference between enforcing real copyright strikes, banning totally illegal content, taking porn off the website, etc and outright unpersoning people for wrongthink.

@Salidin111 apparently Taofladermaus was in contact with a YouTube rep and he was told that he would have to film his videos that involve guns in a shooting range. He does a ton of shotgun slug tests and films on private property. I do not think that rule is official but that's the level of bullshit YT reps are willing to bring up when gun-related youtubers start asking questions.

Plus, twitter is protected from alternatives by corrupting the free market. It's not a free market if alternatives like Gab are threatened to get kicked off servers.

They don't need to prove it was a coordinated attack to ban people, though. A lot of individuals wanted to give journalists a piece of their mind and did not need to be instructed by any "campaign".

Any alternative platforms either get threats about being kicked out of the servers or are told the credit card companies or payment processors are unwilling to work with them. If servers won't take you or you're unable to make payments how do you want to have an internet platform?
