I don't expect the average person to have big brained takes on politics so they just latch onto tropes like "communism" and "just like Hitler", but this is an unfair dismissal. If anything, the tyrant that straight up murders everyone makes his evil known and despite the fear instilled into the population it drives resistance. The fact that you aren't killed for voicing your opinion isn't an automatic proof of anything.

Theoretically possible considering that lab tests determines that airborne particles can last 3 hours, but you'd sooner win the lottery than inhale enough of a viral load through the window.

Look, I was on the side of masks because I recognized it as a ploy to get masks in the hands of healthcare professionals. It was still a fucking lie, and they tanked their credibility so nobody cares about what the experts say anymore. When the streets were empty and entry to grocery stores was so limited you had a 10 yard radius around with nobody else the mask made sense. Even with the 2-3 meter/6 feet social distancing you're breathing others' particles. There's too many people in public transport and stores. The masks aren't sealed. The only thing they do is contain the largest particles sneezed or coughed out, and nobody dares coughing in public. When you breathe out, the air bypasses the mask. When you breathe in, air bypasses the mask. You're breathing others' airborne particles and there's nothing that homemade/surgical masks can do about it. Plus, after being inconvenienced for so long people can't be bothered to use the mask safely. They're touching the masks and their faces. So the contagion is still going on.

@jynxed66six54 "the corona virus is known to have carriers who dont have an actual illness" - But these people will breathe out the particles in aerosolized form. If they were sick, the mask would at least stop the droplets from coughing and sneezing. But breathing in and out normally, air will simply go through the path of least resistance.

Do you not realize how restrictions on fluids work? A mountain is pretty big, but now imagine you had to push the entire Earth's atmosphere through a valley. It would be a workout. Trying to force your average lung displacement through a mask will either a) require huge amounts of effort or b) pull air through all the unsealed spaces, bypassing the mask.

@MrMeow-iq7kq Working 8 hours with a mask is a chore. I can feel myself getting stupid in the last 1-2 hours. Luckily I do a lot of cardio so I can handle it but customers can't help but pull their masks down when they get to the register. We allow people to wear face-shields instead of masks because of this.
