@blackberrythorns 300 launches, 7 hits. How much damage on those hits?

They don't have much else. Designing stuff from scratch takes time. Tsirkon missiles are Iskander missiles converted to launch from the air instead of land.
1
Have they?
1
@blaisemorris1301 They only had 2, and only had 3 for a few months. Why would 7 replace 3? The real answer? They need more coverage because they had to leave areas unprotected to shoot down aircraft.

ICBMs. The ICBM ensures MAD because each rocket has multiple independent warheads. Which is why the moment ICBM launches are detected, the opposing nation has to make the decision to launch theirs because you cannot ensure you survive the volley.
1
@st4849 Because as I said, if an ICBM launch is detected, the opposing country will launch theirs immediately. They will not wait for the warheads to land to check if they're nuclear or not, they will retaliate with nukes. There's a reason why nations disclose when they are doing test launches. Either way, the ICBM system would cost billions per launch. Using a conventional warhead would be a waste, since you're shooting things into space (expensive) for them to come back down.

No he isn't...

@timwhiting6721 No. November 29, 2023. He's gone.

Not true. The first hypersonic use was Khinzal, which is exclusively air launched. It needs speed and altitude to reach hypersonic, which the submarine does not have.
1
@Tod_oMal Yes, so? That's not proof it was used, nor proof it was used before Khinzal.
1
They boost at altitude and dive on target. They don't retain speed in a cruise, they dash.
1
That's the warhead. Look for the picture of a crashed Khinzal after it fell off the aircraft during launch inside Russia. You'll see the EXACT SAME warhead inside the crushed nose cone fairing. Klitchko is holding what survived the crash, the aerodynamic nose probably disintegrated.
1
What? It's Russian defenses that are getting embarassed by everything. Storm Shadows, ATACMS, prop planes...
1
@KRYPTOS_K5 How it is amazing? It's a rocket that flies. We had those in the 60s. How would they sink a carrier? Carriers are not fixed. They sail. And Khinzals were stopped. America always does that. Remember the missile gap? The bomber gap? The MiG-25?
1
@blackberrythorns How was the game changed? Over 90% interception rates, some stuff gets through. Exact same we've seen in Ukraine. The game is still the same.
1
@hamadkennedy6295 The damage is relevant. If I protect my radars, my launchers, my hangers, etc and a missile lands in an outhouse, I did my job successfully. I still got hit? Okay, but I prioritized what shouldn't get hit.
