The thing is that you're trying to compare a private venture with an oligarch shadow company that served as a deniable asset. It's like if Sony had to close their Playstation division and all the assets were sold to Nintendo. If Nintendo is selling Switch consoles made in former Playstation factories, does that mean Playstation still exists? No, it closed down. It's over. Now if Sony declares that PlayStation is closing and announces the SlayPtation that is the exact same and has the same games... the legal entity ceased to exist but the company is still alive. Blackwater is so dead, the last time I heard of them the owners of the brand were trying to make money by selling the brand to an ammunition manufacturer.

@bramharms72 This is the real world. Russia filmed some propaganda about the guys who lasted 6 months and were released. There's a handful of them on camera. Thousands are buried. There's satellite photos tracking the growth of Wagner cemeteries over time. New graves are constantly being dug. They're criminals. Why would they give them promotions? They're not trustworthy.

@bramharms72 That's a question for Russia to solve. Did you know that crime inside Russia near the border areas has increased tremendously? What skills and experience? They're used as recon by fire. Aka advance until they get shot at and force Ukrainians to expose themselves. Recognized for what? Not dying? Promoted to what? More valuable bullet sponge? I'm not American. So your argument fails right there.
