@markseslstorytellerchannel3418 That's typically how economic cycles work. You nosedive for a while, then your recovery is "growth".

I don't think Prigozhin has that ambition. He wants to be the teacher's pet, not the dean.

About one death every two months on average since 2016.

They're more antagonistic than in the 80s. Unironically. Watch some Russian media. You may not think about them, but Russians think you want to wipe them out. It's North Korea tier over there.

@duke9260 It is exactly how negotiations work.

@Roblovesbushcraft Damn Ukraine is incompetent and still kicking Russia's teeth in?
2
@Augustus_Imperator Russia only lasted this long because of Soviet era stockpiles. They couldn't even build a force for the 2022 war, what makes you think they can rebuild a stronger force?

Stop. Ukraine existed before Russia. Russia started in Moscow, and they're a remnant of the former Mongol empire. They took the name of the Rus, who founded Kiev. Ukraine had a pro-independence movement since the Russian empire, and when 1917 happened the Ukrainian reds fought the Russian bolsheviks to a standstill. This granted them the Ukraine SSR, a on paper independent country. Obviously Moscow ruled the Soviet Union, but Russians couldn't subjugate Ukrainians so they had to play underhanded games like shipping Ukrainians to Siberia and sending Russians to live in their place. They asked to leave the Union right before it collapsed, meaning that they were independent the whole time, even if only on paper.

Now the Taliban are complaining about their 9 to 5 jobs.

There are many former military and military age men conducting spotting behind enemy lines. Even assassination. Several appointed mayors and police chiefs collaborating with Russian occupation were car bombed or killed during home invasions.

@Roblovesbushcraft What situation? Russia resorting to human wave attacks and driving armor into minefields?
1
@SashaArsic Yes. A criminal walking up to a gas station for a robbery is cause for us to discuss how to take him out. The criminal threatening to shoot the gas station employees would drive people into hysteria.

Meh that clock is based on the fee fees of "scientists" with political biases.

"lolbertarian thinks you can just appease dictators, more at 11"

Because it's a defensive initiative?

It's been reported on many outlets. There's videos of the local police stations having the jails converted to detention centers and interrogation facilities. The local civilians complain of the torture or their relatives disappearing.

@Augustus_Imperator It's not humiliation to force the guilty party to pay for damages. Oh, I'm sorry, when people sue each other for damages is that "humiliation" or justice? Their projected GDP is terrible and it includes all the military production. Actually producing goods and services has the same contribution to GDP as producing military equipment. However, the first will actually create more growth while the latter will just end up burning in Ukraine. China is sitting this one out, Iran is dealing with internal issues, and their nuclear arsenal would be used against the children of oligarchs and generals who live in London, NYC, Paris, etc.

They are a US ally considering that the Budapest memorandum had several Western nations pledge support for Ukraine in case of invasion. It's a US problem in the sense that the country both promised support in exchange for giving up nukes, and the US is sort of the "caretaker" of many former Soviet messes the Russian federation couldn't afford to clean up. Remember all the labs talk by Russia? Moscow set up those lab programs. The US had to pay to keep biologists and nuclear physicists employee to prevent them going to Iran or North Korea.

@listener523 Doesn't matter. If you pledge help, then you help, it's a thing. The legislature seems to not be against support. So as always, cope and seethe.
1
It was "our" fight. The UK, France and the US pledged to help Ukraine in exchange for the Soviet stockpile they had on hand.
1
@mikeronni1 EDIT: Sorry, wrong comment. Ukraine had Soviet nukes. They gave them up in 1994.

It avoids shocks in the global market, and leaves more on the table for future transgresssions. If we go full bore embargo and blockade, Russia just gets to also misbehave as much as possible knowing there's nothing left except boots on the ground.

@ahuman7199 Pretty sure the Greeks had it before Russia. And the Russians got it from the Tatars.
